The locator sets only to next/previous var and not where my exact playhead is. Why?

This is by far the best tutorial for CS12. The documentation from nektartech is really bad.

Hey man, I’ve been considering this piece of kit so I’ve been going down the rabbit hole the last day or 2. I rarely leave comments on tutorial vids, but I wanted to say you’ve done a really fantastic job at showing the CS12 hardware and software off. Definitely the best I’ve seen here on KZfaq yet! Wanted to say thanks because all the other channels are just focusing on the typical surface level features, you may have been the one to have convinced me to bite the bullet. Thanks again, look forward to more videos on this if future updates come out etc. Cheers!

Great review - this control surface looks the best out there for Logic ! Does it automatically map to the controls within alchemy? Both the simple and and the advanced controls? If not can the knobs be mapped manually - and if yes is this easy to do? I need more than just one fader control (mapped to software controls) as may want to change more than one control in Alchemy at the same time. Thanks

So I finally got the PCS12. But I wish someone would show how to map instruments from start to end. That's seems very hard to understand and no one is showing how it's done. Even the manual is hard to understand how to do it.

Love Geist 2. It plays well still on PC and older MacOS. I believe it to be a viable and comprehensible tool for beat baking. FXpansion created great software and I hope Roli who owns them ,decides to revisit it .

I like it.. What I wish they would have done was put a higher end led screen. That screen is like 2010 quality. Also maybe a more premium chassis. Other than that based off of everyones review it looks like a great Logic control surface. Great deep dive.

Yeah, I’ve been waiting since February for mine. They claim it’s out, and didn’t communicate any delays until I reached out to nektar. They just shrugged and gave me the runaround with no indication on when it’ll be available. Not a great start..

It may differ based on the version of Logic you’re using. Try looking under the edit menu in the main tracks view.

This is helpful information. I usually just turn down the volume directly on the plugin, then use the mixer knob to adjust the instrument sound to taste in context with the other sounds in the beat/song. You exposed some new techniques. I'll be watching this video over, until I understand what you were doing with the gain plugin and the peak and loudness. Can you do a mixing tutorial video? Thanks for sharing your expertise. Blessings and peace to you and yours.

Thanks for the helpful video. Do you have insights on how to use Nektarine with a deep instrument plugin like Battery 4?
@chevaliermusic2 ай бұрын
At the moment, the CS 12 uses smart controls in logic pro to manipulate synthesizer and instrument parameters. Nektar intends to hopefully add functionality that allows for deep integration as with audio processing plug-ins.

You can assign any key command to the marker buttons. But then they could not be used for markers. I just use key commands.

@chevaliermusic2 ай бұрын
Pre-fader metering is just a good way to see the level of the signal entering the channel. But it’s also important to check post fader metering to see what is exiting the channel and being sent to downstream processors

Any tips on gainstaging instrument tracks that have Neural plugins or amp sims?
@chevaliermusic2 ай бұрын
There would be no difference. -18 full scale average would still be the optimal input level. You can then increase or decrease the input level a bit, to achieve the desired tone.
