Terrible track design. Draw it out in linear form and you'll see its bad design. The cars are too fast for that track. The cars are only using 20% of the corner but they can still complete the double jump. The cars have more ability than the track is designed for. 2nd and 3rd over jump and slam onto the landing zone which costs them more time.

Gossip. That's 10 push ups! Now, let's get back to work! Let's look at that 1st photo behind you. That's a terrible set up tuning. That buggy I'd sagging in the rear end. It's also got a lot of body roll. It's also got massive body twist happening. It's SO bad that the inside front tyre has lifted off the track. The outside rear wheel has massive camber problems. You should be ashamed of that photo. That buggy is at the worst possible tuning setting for that location on the track. Just look at the angle of the front and rear wings. Those things are supposed to be level. Do you understand wings, mate? If a plane has wings angled down like that, Which way will the plane fly? Maybe you should take the wings off the buggy and get your tuning working for you. Obviously, your wings aren't helping you.

This is actually very bad. Your 2WD is not even turning. It's supposed to be spinning the rear wheels and having big over steering positions. But you've got it turning like a badly set-up 4WD. You've gone around the corner but the car hasn't started turning yet. Toe on the rear is for controlling the POWER SLIDE effect on the rear end. You're not even in a power slide situation. You keep slowing down before the corners and never get into a power slide drift. You corner and stop. Start off by observing what the track designer has built. 1st corner is a corner designed for a high speed car to gradually slow down to a very tight turn. YOU slow down before you get halfway. But as you slow down you almost hit the edge of the track. 2WD cars begin the turn when you touch the brakes. You're doing corners way too early. You must be in the middle of the track and brake later at halfway round that big turn. You need lots of speed to turn the rear end and power slide at the very last moment of the corner. Your car is set-up as a very bad tail dragger when it corners. 2WD"s DON'T trail drag around corners. You DON'T WANT grip. You power slide around corners. Racing is power slide driving. Tail dragging is not going fast. Tail dragging is SAFE driving.

So, raise the car, stiffen the rear end, reduce the steering performance, soften the front end, give it some body roll ability . If that fails you'll have to switch to toe out wheel alignment and start slamming the car into corners at a greater speed and when you back off the acceleration, the car will start the turn by itself. Toe out will cause you to turn early. The middle of the track is your ideal practice and set-up the car line. The middle line is the fastest line around a track. You MUST do your testing on a circle track. When your car is at half throttle, it's sagging in the rear. You haven't done a basic set up yet. Level the car when it's at half throttle. Drive it in circles and tune the car to be at half throttle and on the middle line of the circle track. Tune the front end to be a toe out setting and still be at half throttle and in the middle of the circle track. When you go around corners, I want to see the car in an over steer position during the middle of the corner. That means the rear end must be stepping out and wheelspining . I don't want to see the car gripping corners. I want to see you drifting around corners at high speed. Failure to do this results in 10 push ups!

After the second double jump there's 2 right hand turns and then there's a left corner. That left corner is off camber and it exposes your car is too low and it causes your suspension to Max out and spin the rear end. Your car needs to be raised up and the front end must be soft enough to hold the line for that off camber left turn. You car saggs in the rear when it's going in a straight line under power. You must stuffed the rear suspension. Your car has too much steering power. You must reduce that. It's got too much grip in steering which causes you to hit the rope and throw the rear out.

Great video. I’m over in Perth WA. I’m keen to get into F1 and am in the process of searching out a 2nd hand car. Would an older Tamiya F104 be OK for a first car or would you recommend a newer car, Roche, Shumacher, Exotek, etc
@GRC-Racing
@GRC-Racing Жыл бұрын
Hey there, thanks for the comment. Honestly, I think a Tamiya F104 would be fine to get into it initially. There is a pretty steep learning curve whatever you do and it is best to just dive in with whatever you can get your hands on for starters. I bought a 2nd hand Roche and it was great to learn the ropes on.

Your video standards are very low. This video doesn't contain 40 years of RC car development. User comments are also at an extremely low level too. This whole hobby has been wasting time and money and hasn't learned much at all in 40 years of freedom. You guys are WAY behind. It's not funny you're so far behind other people. I don't enjoy seeing retailers rob you and exploit you. Retailers have ripped thousands of dollars off you people, already. You guys are really struggling. I've seen this hobby go from BAD to worse.

Hey Tony, thanks for reaching out. Track location depends on what you are looking to race. There is an awesome 1/10th off-road (electric) track at Hills (Fred Caterson Reserve). Great club and facility. There is a similarly fantastic 1/10th off-road electric option at Ryde (Blenheim Park). For 1/8th off-road, the closest could be Orange and there is a new track opening up at Henry Lawson drive in Sydney. For on-road, there is an awesome facility at Whalan and another good (smaller) track that runs Friday nights at Castle Hill.
