Such a shame injuries at key stages ruined us. Robbo misisng large parts was at the time the equivalent of Argentina missing Maradona. Yes he was tbat good and influential. Ended up 4th ..some of the football we played especially those first 16 games was scintillating!

My first ever game i went to was in 1967 at the Hawthorns, my elder sister took me, she was Beatles and George Best mad, and when you see him not yards away from you it makes you realise just how good he was, he put bums on seats and rightly so.

Beardsley in his second spell at Newcastle in my opinion was the best English player. Better than Gazza. Don’t believe me just type in Peter Beardsley and watch him.

Roy Keane has the distinction of having 11 red cards.... nothing to be proud of. Probably ended a few careers... Not a nice man.... Its a game and a true professional plays it that way out of respect of his fellow professionals..

I was 12 or 13 and at that game. A young new-ish Palace supporter, totally passionate and partisan. I have to admit though, for all of that, I was equally in ore watching the likes of Bobby Charlton, George Best, and Denis Law, as well as the other great legions of that era who played at Selhurst Park that season. The likes of Bobby Moore, Hurst, Peters, Gordan Banks, Jimmy Greaves, Franny Lee, Colin Bell the list goes on and on. The biggest shock to me was for some reason until now after watching this video, I genuinely believed the score was 4-2, daa!! ❤💙 🤔🤨😮😂

Sparky was my favourite player growing up & as a player I learnt a lot of tekka from him. And no word of a lie. I was the best vollier of a ball I knew. Thanks to sparks of course.

The sad thing is when Sir Alex sold off Beckham and it took Ronaldo a good 3 years before he became the best we ever had in the wing.

That's why he worked to be the starter and there were some that hard to work harder despite their lack of physical gifts like Paul Scholes. He was short and wasn't fast, but he made up for it in technique and being mentally smart that got him to be a starter as well.

Without Best, it's like Hamlet without the prince. I think he was suspended for the dismissal against Estudiantes. Van Himst is a big loss too.

What about that referee ? Was he a fan in disguise ? Was the real ref left tied up in the dressing rooms? Check out his behaviour at 4.48 and 11.01. Extremely unprofessional. Un-accept-able.

As a Man U fan this marked the end of one of United's most golden eras. Tommy Doc was in charge of a young, exciting and attacking team. We had just won the FA Cup and we believed the Title was within reach. All this ended with the arrival of Sexton. Dreams shattered.

This wasn't shown in England at the time cos there was a dispute with the fa and TV companies at the time. Something to do with fallen attendances I think.

I miss those kind of pre VAR days...for example when the ref sent off Graham Hogg and mooreoh said 'the referee can only do as he sees' I mean in those days the man 'in the middle' were the instigators (no back up...nothing.
