Wow, I just found this channel, you offer some great content on the History of Amateur Boxing, I love the Sugar Ray Golden Gloves Series I remember this series which debuted shortly after Sugar Ray Leonard defeated Thomas Hearns back on September 16, 1981. Thanks for these old school amateur bouts.

Never knew bentt fought savon and did that good, best I've seen anyone do besides ruslan.. bent actually hurt savon several times.. no wonder he knocked Morrison out so quick.. thanks youtube, learn something new everyday

Bentt was 2 years older than Savon (21 vs 19), which at least partly explains his greater success than most. Mercer gave Savon one of his better fights allegedly, Savon was 20 to Mercer's 27. Nicholson lost narrowly to Savon (11-13) and he was 24 to Savon's 24, though I thought the fight was more lopsided than the score, in favour of Savon.
