Amazing improvement from your first mockup wow! you've captured every detail in the original i can think of. Could you tell me how you did the wobbly sub bass? I've tried Putting a low pass on a pizzicato solo bass, then reversing it and copying in front of the original note and some light reverb at the end to get that whooshing effect. it's close but not enough.

Thank you. The sub bass is a patch from the dark zebra. It's basically just a normal synth sub bass with less attack

Amazing Mockup my guy!! Did you use specific presets from The Dark Zebra? If so, which ones did you use?
@FlickshotMusic

Yes, I used the presets as a starting point and processed them further. But I don't know the name of the presets anymore. But especially the percs you should find quickly as they are not processed that much

Haha, all that Prussian oomphta oomphta oomphta is awesome. And just to clarify for the foreigners: The melody is the melody of the emperor's anthem ("Kaiserhymne") of Austria when Austria was part of and the leader of the German empire until 1806. It is also known as "Gott erhalte Franz den Kaiser". After the dissolution of the German empire, it automatically became the Austrian empire's official anthem. During the revolutionary period - after Metternich's dumb and unfair restauration of Europe -, Hoffmann von Fallersleben wrote new lyrics, for a drinking song full of patriotism. A second version was written by von Fallersleben almost at the same time which was more formal, less mundane, less embarrassing, and more worthy to represent a future national state "Lesser Germany" (= without Austria). This song is called "The Song of the Germans" ("Das Lied der Deutschen") and contains 3 stanzas. Later, to honour the Austrian emperor, Tschaikowsky composed a unique orchestrations for "Gott erhalte Franz den Kaiser" but with tons of Prussian oomphta oomphta in it which alledgedly the Austrian emperor disliked a bit. After the Second World War, the Western occupational zones, later Federal Republic of Germany (West Germany), created a new national anthem from "The Song of the Germans" by eliminating the first 2 stanzas. In the Soviet occupational zone, later German Democratic Republic (East Germany), social democrats, socialists and true communists who had suffered badly under the far-right fascist dictatorship of the NSDAP enjoyed 2-3 years of real anti-fascism, democratic reforms and they shared a dream of a restart and a better Germany. The lyrics for a new national anthem originated in that positive, hopeful environment. The melody was also new, however, it was intentionally composed in such a way that it fits the Austrian anthem "Gott erhalte Franz den Kaiser" and therefore also the West German anthem. A byproduct is, that you can also sing the lyrics of the West German anthem on the melody of the East German anthem. Unfortunately, the "Group Ulbricht" took over the political lead with the help of Moscow and the local Soviet occupational forces. Beginning in 1948, the dream of a democratic, socialist Germany was destroyed when Stalin ordered Ulbricht to create an East German system based on the system of the Soviet Union. This is known as the period of stalinisation 1948-1949. Even though Ulbricht generally despised the Soviet model and insisted on East Germany being the best role model within the Eastern bloc, the system never really came back to its democratic version of 1946-1948. The new anthem then became the East German anthem in 1949 and thus was perverted right from the start. The lyrics speak of freedom, democracy, peace and so on, but the country became unfree, undemocratic and militarised. The lyrics were also speaking of a united German fatherland, which became so unpleasant for the East German bureaucrats that a simple sassy remark by Willy Brandt led to Erich Honecker, communist leader of East Germany, having the lyrics banned in 1973.

Definetly the best arrangement ive heard so far. Ive made a mockup myself of the last half, i would appreciate your feedback. :) how did you find out which piano was used in the original recording? Best regards :)
@FlickshotMusic
@FlickshotMusic Жыл бұрын
Thank you. Hans told us about the piano. You should check out Vi Control. It's a forum for composers and Hans is quite active there as well. I think your mockup sounds quite good. You are using good sounds and the right choice of dynamics. However you should take a look at the mix. Each instrument group sounds like it's been recorded in a different room. So I would rework the positioning and the use of reverb. It also lacks some high end and you could widen the sound to make it sound bigger

@@FlickshotMusic thank you very much! I actually have an account on Vi Control, but never saw the post from Hans Zimmer about the piano. Very nice though! I will rework on it later on. :)) I always thought he used the Steinway Piano that the Spitfire sampled at AIR. Nice to know. Do you have a quick tip on how to make the groups sound like they are in the same room? As I mostly use Spitfire Libraries like you? :)
