I want to get older siblings to cruise with me but no one likes screaming kids. Is Celebrity better than Carnival or Royal? However, not the kids' fault they have awful parents. Like shoving fingers up nose then handling buffet bar food with hands unsupervised so they can get everyone sick

We love Costa Maya. We took a taxi to the Krazy Lobster. The food was great and you can purchase a $5 bucket of beer. The beach was not crowded and the water was beautiful and calm. The service was great too.

Who cares about the privileged snobs that think they are special but still have to rub elbows with 97% of booked passengers.

Lumina is good, but Eden is better.

Good Afternoon Tom!! Great video on the retreat. I personally love the retreat area and service. I have done the retreat on the millennium, Ascent and Beyond. All were great 👍. I only have one complaint and that is the retreat pool area on edge class ships gets very, very crowded. So crowded on the ascent that we ended up going down to the main pool. Nothing wrong with that at all, but it was kind of disappointing, considering we paid a high premium to be in the Retreat area. Thanks again Tom . Have a great weekend 😊

I totally agree with you! My husband and I experienced a sky suite on Celebrity Constellation. We were spoiled. The service was exceptional! We loved Luminae! We are looking forward to our next cruise!

I was able to try the retreat in Alaska on the Edge for slightly less than a concierge + wifi + drinks (at 50% off) would have been. It was a deal to say the least. Honestly I thought it was amazing. Luminae was the highlight for myself; it was such a treat to go there each meal...and I actually loved spending time at the sundeck too even though the weather was less than optimal for most (I live in Seattle so this was mostly business as usual for me). Anyhow...would I do it again? Absolutely...but at the same time I can't justify it if the price is substantially more than concierge or aqua class + drinks + wifi would be.

I was in the Navy. If I would miss my ship, they had kicked my ass to the next island. If 3000, obese, old, senior passengers, have to wait 1 hour more, on a cruise ship, who cares.......

Hi Tom. Those chairs on the balcony look kind of cheap and small for such a big space. We’ve had nicer chairs on older Celebrity ships. Also, why no coffee table by the couch? Where would you put room service? One more thing, that safe is tiny. Other than that the room looks beautiful.

Ship time is very important. We are back aboard usually a hour before it departs. It’s not hard to get back on time

Hi Tom - Would you recommend trying to get a restaurant reservation ON LAND in Santorini & Mykonos (speaking strictly for the pretty views) OR do you think Luminae will have nice views of the cities, while in port? We are in port until 10PM both nights for our MED cruise in September and don’t know which way to go, to enjoy the best views of Mykonos and Santorini. Thanks so much for your advice :-). I have been on plenty of cruise ships in Australia and I have never heard the passengers behaving as bad as the Americans do when someone is left behind. It's really rude, but expected.

Th He BEST lobster roll in Boston is the one that you can afford..........Needless to say, they are like Filet Mignon which only the upper class can afford to eat whenever they want......The most reasonable price is around 25 to 35 dollars......Back in the 1950's, 1960's and the 70's, you could buy them for 4 or 5 dollars ......Even more expensive than lobster is whole belly clams and scallops which goes for Market price that is around 50 dollars..........I would eat seafood 3 times a week back then and not go broke.

New Cruiser here. We have been on two Celebrity Cruises in the last 7 months. I don't eat the cookies, so that is not a big deal to me. We did eat at Blu on our first cruise back in Dec. 2023 as we were in Aqua Class. The food was fabulous and the portion size was adequate. We ate at the main dining room on our 2nd cruise in March 2024 and the food was good, but not great. We did opt to eat at the pay restaurants 3 times on that cruise. We are staying in the suite in October 2024, and I am expecting excellent food and service. Honestly, I do not know how things were previously, but we have enjoyed our cruises on Celebrity. The only complaint I would have is Aqua Class did not seem worth the extra charge. The room had a few upgrades and Blu, but other than that there was not much else to it.

Ex spa crew member... The thermal suite is definitely over rated, but unfortunately, the lovely ladies that work the reception in the spa, only get paid from commision made from thermal suite, no other salary of any kind (the entire spa staff is purely commision, none of us have salary). You can buy a single day of thermal suite, but it will cost near $80, so better value to go the full cruise option if you are wanting to use it. The problem with the thermal suite is on a cruise that it has a lot of interest, it loses its relaxing vibe, especially when the entitled aqua class cruisers are around 😒

I love aqua class. Btw, you get 5 points per night with aqua vs 3 in a regular veranda.

When I was in the Navy it was drilled into me the consequences of missing ships movement. For missing the movement deliberately, the accused faces dishonorable discharge, forfeiture of all allowances and pay and 2 years confinement as maximum punishment.

You need to schedule another meeting with her and tell her. She’s the worst - ever! We are elite plus.

Hey Tom - thanks for all these great videos. I hate the new President and wish Celebrity would replace her. She’s killing the brand. The premium drink package are outrageous. Been on 17 cruises with Celebrity.

Seen this many times while in the US navy. Of course the USN penalty for "Missing movement." Is more severe than just missing the boat.

Very negative. The prices didn't seem high to me . it $10 for McDonald's these days. I admit $100 for two drinks chips salsa and 2 hours at beach seems a little high. But I'm used to Mr Sancho's in Cozumel. As far as the bus it was air conditioned that's all I need. Some people like to hear about the culture and look around. Seems like maybe you are a complainer. I hope it's just this port. I hope you enjoyed the rest of your cruise regardless.

Wow what a video.Very well done. I was there over 50 years ago. I was there with my mom and grandmother . I remember the ride down the elevator and the 52degree down at the bottom.We rode in the boat. I never will forget when our guide told us in emergency we could climb out of the boat and walk out in to a quarry at the end. Looks like a lot of changes since then :-)

The bathrooms are NOT the same - the balcony bathrooms have the toilet on one side and the tub on the other, each can be closed off by a sliding glass panel.

We definitely had the whistling sound too... you have to press it once or twice to fix it.

We booked a balcony cabin (10540). No complaints at all - but then again, NCL wasn't trying to asphyxiate us either!

If it is true it is definitely time for Celebrity guests to start requesting the removal of Laura Hedges Bethge as the President of Celebrity Cruises before she completely ruins it!

I was there twice within the last 3 months and did not experience any issues with security. Last time we were there, I had a beer in my hand and I wanted to go off the casino floor to go the restroom. I asked the guard at the entrance if I could take the beer off the floor and he said, "Sure, no problem." No ID check, no hassle, nothing. As far as the food goes, we don't eat at the restaurants. We typically eat at the South End Market food court. The food there is not bad - not great, but not bad. The cookies at the seafood place are really good and a good value. I believe we ate once at TAP, but that was pre-COVID. I can't remember whether it was any good. The rooms ARE great. The used to have a little Starbucks one-cup coffee station in one of the alcoves on one of the floors, but they took that out. I enjoy sitting at the long bar and playing video poker. You drink for free if you are playing and the servers are super nice. The only problem is, the spots are usually all taken unless you get there early. It's pretty clean. I'm not crazy about having to leave the floor to go to the restroom (there is a wrought-iron sort of railing around the casino floor, so you have to enter the floor through one of the breaks in the railing along the way).
