Gee, things sure have changed since I was in high school. If one wants to be scared straight into not wanting to get tied down with a baby before they are legal enough to buy a lottery ticket, this is the kind of movie to show teenage girls. Or better yet, try the one that I considered instant birth control at 14: A Nightmare on Elm Street 5: The Dream Child.

The sad reality these days is that teenage girls think that having a baby will be fun and because they babysit their brothers and sisters, they believe that they’ll take care of a baby the same way. They also believe that dressing their baby in designer clothes and shoes will show that they’ll love their baby even more…..WRONG!!! Having a baby is life changing!!! It’s more than dressing the baby in designer clothes and shoes and putting them in Eddie Bauer strollers. When you have a baby so young, it means you’ll have to focus on the baby, your parents may or not support you and the baby financially so you may have to get government assistance (SNAP benefits, Cash Assistance, State Medicaid, etc.), the romance between you and the child’s father will be diminished, and so on. You get no breaks and no vacation time. Then there’s the matter of child support and possible factors such as birth defects and developmental delays and disabilities as the baby ages, so there’s TONS of factors to consider when it comes to teenage pregnancy, labor and delivery. In my grandparents time, it was considered normal to graduate from high school at 15 and 16, become married and have children. Times have changed since then. So, if anyone thinks that it will be like that now is DEFINITELY delulu!!! I wasn’t a teen mom, but my best friend was. I’ve seen her gone through changes as she was expecting her first child in 2002. 2 years later, she and the father of her child got married, and they have 3 more children together. The last child was born in 2010. They’re still married. But that doesn’t mean that will happen to the current teen moms. My advice is to not get pregnant so young. Live your life! Finish school, go to college, learn a trade, get a career, get married then have kids, watch them grow and get married and grow old and retire!

It is so weird to see how religious people see this. Oh teenage pregnancy bad, not married bad. But a baby is a gift of God. So how on earth does that make sense?

15y their body isnt ready to give birth.. back in 1700s+1800s girls 14-15 were married, pregnant every year several miscarriages, stillborn shouldn't schools teach children their body isnt ready ..... I has sex ed in Junior high and highschool, finally able to get birth control pills when i was 18 abortions became legal.... The girls i went to school with we were wanting equal rights, equal pay for women.. we didn't want to be like our moms, married raising kids cleaning house staying in a marriage that did nothing for you.... I was upset at becoming a grandma at 50y.... My neighbor had her child at 16, grandma at 32 and now a great grandma at 53...Schools must teach sex ed, since so many parents dont

does anybody know the name of the movie about a teenage girl that gets pregnant and can't remember if she tells her parents but her b/f takes her to place to live until the baby was born and they would put it up for adoption but the couple running the place was selling babies. the girl's parents found out where she was and she was pregnant. she had the baby but wanted nothing to do with it so her mom decided to raise it. one day her mother left her with the baby and it started crying so she picked it up and started feeling love for it. that same scene the then ex-b/f/daddy got into the house and took the baby and the girl chased after him realizing at that moment she wanted the baby. the police caught the daddy and she had him sign all his rights away and raised the baby herself. saw the movie over 30 years ago on LMN when LMN first come out but can't remember the name of it.

In Italia è molto diverso.Le madri danno metodi anticoncezionali alle figlie abbastanza presto e nessuno trova scandaloso il rimanere incinte. Si cerca di ridimensionare per il bene della ragazza.

At 15, Sara's ability to make good judgments wouldn't be fully developed. But what she did to Jesse was cruel. She deliberately got pregnant to fit in with her friends and was very deceptive about it. I don't blame Jesse for breaking up with her. What Sara did was selfish.

At least the movie carries one right message.. Providing contraception is not a solution. Also they are not 100% efficient. And just preaching about abstinence doesn’t work either. Listening to teens and answering their questions with patience truthfully, is very very important.

No one is commenting about the movie cus everyone wants to share their teen pregnancy stories🙄…. I think it was good that the guy broke up with her because it was horrible for her to trap him like that. I just hope he didn’t let it stop him from being a dad.

I understand she wanted to get pregnant BUTT the whole trapping consent confuses me in this situation. He chose not to use protection and he knew she wasn’t on the pill because her mom didn’t even allow protection or know she was doing it..what did he honestly expect

I'd understand Jesse's reaction if Sara had lied about taking the pill or manipulated the condom, but they had unprotected sex, he knew the risk, so he's responsible, too.

I agree. I have questions to ask. I don’t know if they are stupid questions to ask or not. 1. Did the girls tell the guys they were on the pill? 2. Did the boys not think they could get the girls pregnant if they didn’t use protection?
@CandraJade84
@CandraJade84 Ай бұрын
@@malloryweeks3306 It’s not said for the other girls, but Sara didn’t say she was on the pill. Jesse says he "should have pulled out all the time", so that's the kind of "protection" he tried.
@malloryweeks3306
@malloryweeks3306 Ай бұрын
@@CandraJade84 right. That’s what I thought. It all seems strange because wanting to get pregnant is one thing. It actually happening is another thing. If a girl says that she is on the pill and she really isn’t or if a guy wants to use a condom but the girl says no then I could see that as a girl trying to get pregnant.

I'm just shaking my head in disbelieve. I will never understand why teenage girls would want to get pregnant. At this age kids should think about school and growing up, not want to care for a baby.

What kind of a teenage girl is excited about being pregnant? It’s nothing to play around with because having a baby changes everything especially when you are in high school. The moral and main focal point to this movie period is that things like this happens everyday if people do not tell their children the truth about the consequences when it comes to Sex. Sex is suppose to be a married adult kind of thing that is suppose to be kept in marriages, but that is not the world that we live in right now. Sex is not all romantic and sweet. Some people could contract STDS, HIV, AND GET PREGNANT ON THEIR FIRST TIME THAT WILL ONLY LAST FOR A FEW MINUTES. SEX IS NOT A GAME NOR A JOKE RATHER YOU ARE A TEENAGER OR AN ADULTS.
