Have you tried using the much cheaper non-Epson inks from ebay?

Useful video...a couple of tips to add: if your card is already cut to size, move it slightly away from the top of the scoring board so that your score with the tool STARTS from the edge of your card...(if you simply line the card up directly to the edge of the board the scoring tool will not reach into the top of the card. Also...i would suggest 'creasing' the BACK/BLANK side not the front to avoid damaging the colours/card on the front.

Hello Alice, I do make greeting cards. I only sell a small amount of them. I will be starting my business up. Your cards are really cute.

Hello Alice, this is some really great information. No matter what you do or say and even how you look...at least one person will have some negative words to say. You take care.

Hi. I love love love your videos. Bought this printer after your reviews. I just wanted to ask, have you used any off brand printers for the xp-970 I’ve found that the inks are very expensive and I’m looking for alternatives

In case you didnt know, or others dont know (i didnt until recently), cellophane bags are a good choice as they are made from plant extract and although cant be recycled, they are biodegradable. Good video.👍

Is this method effective with thinner papers too?

Ißm currently in the process to find out what works for refillable cartridges for this printer - it´s not easy. BUT I did manage to find a solution for the maintenance box: You can open it, clean it and then use a resetter that cost around 40 € with shipping to reset the chip on it. When the sponges, that are inside the box, are washed out and dried I can put the box back together, reset the chip and use it over and over again. Now I just have to get the cartridges to work consistently. If you have questions I love to help :)

What kind of gloss varnish do you use for gold leaf? What brand would you suggest that is the best for this?

Thanks for the review! I ended up buying the same printer. I must say besides the bluetooth problem, I am quite happy with it.

Cellophane is plant-based. It is made from cellulose, a natural polymer derived from wood, cotton, or other plant materials. Unlike plastic, which is derived from petroleum, cellophane is biodegradable and can break down more easily in the environment.

Thanks for the good information. Here in the States, the biggest card manufacturer is Hallmark who get a lot of money per card, and the ideas that go into them are less than desirable. That's why you should do your own, and hopefully, you might do it for less. Good luck with your business! 😀

Thanks a lot for that video! Did you try to print with not original paper and ink? I'm thinking to buy this model of Epson, but not sure if it will be also good quality with not original paper.

Nice video. I have two question. What is the name brand of the Pro12 paper trimmer? As these are an inkjet print, do you need to seal your cards in case water or moisture gets on them and bleed?

Based on watching your first video I was so impressed with the quality of your cards and what you were able to do with the printer I bought one for myself. Just wanted you to know I think it's fantastic and I appreciated your help in picking this printer. It simply does a beautiful job. Thank you and keep doing videos.

Good little intro to card making. I have the same folder tray you do. You may wish to consider getting a bone folder. To me, they feel a little smoother when running them along the paper than the default yellow knife does. (Though it obviously works). I'm not sure how many prints you get out of your cartridges for your printer, but should it break down on you for some reason you might want to consider the the Epson Ecotank 8500 or 8550. I enjoy mine very much. Canon also makes an intank type printer but I cannot speak to the quality etc.

Hi Alice! Thanks for sharing this video! Just got my printer :D I was wondering if you could share what color profile you set your canvas as--CMYK or RGB in procreate (or any other software) and what printer setting you use. My Epson printer doesn't print out the color so vibrant like yours and I've tried so many different settings but I still end up with a dulled down color. Thank you in advance!!
