11:00 the fittings look too deep into the Aeromotive regulator, metal center of diaphragm may been hitting them. PQY reg fittings seems shorter. Also in the base, the center post/seat could be diff heights, looks maybe deeper/shorter on the Aeromotive. Normally they are top line but anyplace can have a bad run of parts.

I would not stack washers under this tray for multiple reasons. You want to endure tge tray rests on a solid standoff. The better way to do this is to add metric un flanged nuts to the studs then the tray. Tge washers will inevitably move around over time. Lots of moving parts and stuff moving around in there.

I'm not worried about this in the slightest. and like I say in any of my videos, if something ends up not working or fails, I'll be the first one to come in and say it didn't work. Also I tried the flange nut thing and wasn't comfortable with moving the windage tray down more than necessary because all it does is distort the hell out of the pick up tube.

This can be made to work but it IMO is nowhere near as safe. People kick wood out from under their tires all the time. Also if the deck is parallel to the ground there is still going to be breakover angle to get over if your car is really low. What my way does is make the deck closer to loading onto a rollback deck.

I did the 5 speed swap and now the fan stays on high. I think its because the ECM doesn’t see trans temp anymore, so it defaults to hot and trys to cool the trans. I'm glad the car i bought didn't have the air bags. Has springs. But they seem to be sagging just enough i notice it when I get in. I'd prefer to get some hd variable rate and replace them but that's a good idea. I won't do it any time soon because i don't have any sway or extreme sagging and the shocks are still ok. I bought a 64 Belaire the springs were so bad there was considerable sway going down the highway. I put on better tires on the rear and it helped and then I put some rubber isolater bushings and that was enough to make the difference on that car but back then I didn't know what i know now and i didn't have several sources of wholesale parts. What is is fine for now but variable rate will help keep the ride but add a little better handling. I used hd variable rate once before on a swap and that was a huge difference. One HUGE benefit i noticed last time I looked over the Watt linkage and the underside is the 03 reae shocks are outside the frame. They'll be a cinch to change where on the 79 to 02 cars i didn't dare buy one with bad rear shocks because they were a royal pain to change. That's the one area i used to pay someone else on a panther platform.

If we're talking about grand cherokee with a pentastar v6 and 8 speed transmission then I would say the grand cherokee would likely be a better experience in every way but most importantly in the gas mileage department. Since it doesn't have the aerodynamics of a barn. A v6 grand cherokee might not have as high of a tow rating through. not sure.

Did bubble balancing work for you?
@PNW_Car_Mods
@PNW_Car_Mods 23 күн бұрын
I'm gonna tentatively say yes. So here's the deal. We balanced them really well and bolted them on. Car drives glass smooth until you hit exactly 67mph and then starts vibrating. I wasn't too worried about it and drove it a couple hundred miles trouble free and generally pretty happy with it. That being said as an experiment I took them on thursday to my local family owned tire shop that has a hunter road force balancer. There was surprisingly very little change. I think they added a 1/4 oz weight to the inner beads on 3 of the 4 wheels and a few other minor changes. Went out and took it on the freeway and sure as shit it starts to vibrate at exactly 67mph. So I think what I have going on here is a loose fit up at the hubcentric portion to the hub on my rear wheel spacers. So I am going to shim the spacers to the stock hubs and take that slop up and see if the problem goes way. The hubcentric to wheel from the spacer is tight as hell so I know it's not there. I will report back if that fixes it. If that doesn't fix it I'll be making the switch to ARP long wheel studs and billet spacers for the rear. If all else fails I'll bolt these tires and wheels on to my sons 4th gen camaro SS and see if his car vibrates with them. That being said my car did not vibrate at all with the old set of tires even well into the triple digits.
@richbinaz
@richbinaz 23 күн бұрын
@@PNW_Car_Mods Getting within 1/4 oz is really good, so I would say your bubble balancer is good. Especially as it was pretty much verified with the Hunter machine. 65 on the freeway was where I found vibration problems early on, found my HF bubbler was poorly made too which didn't help. Plus I put the weights on wrong with my first wheels (rim weights). Since then I use the stick-ons, as close as I can get them to the wheels vertical CG plane. That ended dynamic imbalance for me. Video for finding where to find the wheel CG, for weight placement kzfaq.info/get/bejne/nN2hhZRkqdWViI0.html I use hub centric rings for balancing hubs with larger diameters, so I can use the same steel ball. They are kind of tight, so that should have worked. Nice to be able to swap wheels on vehicles. That should definitely reveal the source of the vibration. Good luck
