I've tried but just can't get it to work. I followed everything you did (except I used assign 4) as 1 - 2- 3 are doing something. Any suggestions.

If starting with a beat it’s important to record the number of bars required for the chord progression- or you get caught short!
@davidshanhun4 күн бұрын
Or you can just record one bar and still record as many bars as you want for other tracks also. Depends on your loop pedal and how you want to do things 👌

Interesting and helpful video. Thank you. I’d be interested in knowing what looper you use and seeing video of your feet g hitting the pedal when you change from track to track. I just have a Boss RC-3 looper and, so far, I only use it for songs with the same chord pattern throughout, e.g. Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door, All Along The Watctower etc. Too nervous I’d stuff it up with choruses and bridges! 😂

What a tasteful player. Great job! Our phones are listening to us tho. This looping thing has been on my mind a lot lately and here you are with exactly what I need. Anyway, I’ve made my living playing the last 15 years and started to add the looper but I was able to stay booked without it so I got lazy 🙄 I want to add it now and this is perfect for me to figure it out. Its a shame that I cannot assign different input fx banks to different tracks, so that corresponding input fx would automatically activate when I play different tracks. What is the point of looper if you cannot do that. How am i supposed to change the track and the input fx bank at the same time. I bought this looper so that i would be able to do that. But it cannot even do such a simple thing. Is programming such a basic and essential function in a looper such a hard thing? Can anyone suggest me a work around?
@davidshanhun15 күн бұрын
it's somewhat possible using assigns, you'd assign the effect you want to happen to the same pedal that starts your next loop, or look at your assign options for choosing banks etc (not sure what's there off the top of my head). lots of creative ways to make things happen from the same button push. How long have you had the pedal?
@beenay1815 күн бұрын
@@davidshanhun Thanks for your insights. I have had it for may be 4 days. I wish there was an assign for " activate input fx bank A or B or C or D". It would have been possible that way. there is an assign for " input fx turn on/off", it wont work for be because I want to use second input fx bank in next track. There is also as assign for "Input fx bank inc/dec", but when I return to the same track again the input fx bank would have gone somewhere else.
@davidshanhun13 күн бұрын
@@beenay18 yep - there's a few things like that which would make life a lot simpler - or the unit would become a lot better instantly. eg an assign to directly choose the bank you want. here's hoping somewhere down the track those things get added, but so far even the updates have caused more issues so I expect we're not at adding features yet!

Thank you for another great vid!! My curiosity for the RC600 is increasing! Dumb question: you don't need to bring the ipad to the gig with the osc after you save everything into the rc ? Did the rc with well with the boss gtk-1000/core?
@davidshanhun21 күн бұрын
Hi Derek - you will still need the ipad for touch osc - the buttons on screen are what you use to trigger those things to happen in the rc600. Otherwise you can buy a midi pedal to do the same thing with your feet as touch osc

What about singers smacks? Especially within a sung phrase. My sound engineer always complains about these but you can't really avoid it. Any idea about this problem.
@davidshanhun19 күн бұрын
You can use a de-esser to minimise how much they stick out, or automation to drop just those brief points. Other than that it’s working with your singer on this. If it’s you - then film & record yourself so you can identify what it is you are doing when you make these noises and go from there 👌

Some good tips there I'll use when a song has a more syncopated or complex rhythm. Would be good to take the video an extra step and show how you then translate that to the actual song. Recently I've been 'cheating' by saving the groove onto a preset for each song on my Voicelive3, it locks the tempo and the loop and you can go straight into overdubbing to shorten the loop building time. Can also save different variations of the rhythm into each of the channels so you can mix it up for the chorus etc. I learnt a lot of my looping from finding your channel a few years ago when you still used the Voicelive3 and your Takamine. I've now got a set of songs I'm proud of but haven't taken the plunge into performing them to anyone. Thanks for all your advise over the years it's been priceless and helped me immensely.
@davidshanhunАй бұрын
Ah thankyou! Glad you’ve gained some ideas from the channel and saving some of those grooves is a great idea. Expect i’ll do some more videos on rhythm and like you said then translating it back to playing the song itself also 👌
