Originally a fixed grip 2 person chair built in 1982, this 4 person detachable version was built in 1989. It's scheduled to become a 6 pack for the 2024-2025 season.

For the longest time it has been preached (and still is) to keep the shoulders square (parallel) to the bottom of the fall line. Yet watching this skier (beautiful turns) it appears the shoulders were more square to the ski tips or direction of travel. Ski carving has been greatly impacted by snowboarding (as has ski design) and this is another area where the 2 sports appear to be complimenting each other with the shoulders staying in-line with the tips. Unless I am incorrect.

Wonderful skiing. Ideally, one would like to see more active extension between transition and the fall line in order to create functional pressure and ski performance. The ski are often unweighted during that phase of the turn and often do not truly engage until the fall line. This is typical of demonstration skiers from Japan and certain European countries. But beautiful skiing to watch, very balanced and the skis are driven nicely from the fall line and across the hill. Thanks for posting.

The mid & lower mountain snowpack has been further depleted by the recent rain. High traffic areas are getting very raw.

I keep coming back to these videos by Yes and I am blown away by the skiing on is a very steep slope and difficult conditions! I very much doubt that I or any other commenters can even try to do what most of these people do on their skis. Hope to see many more videos like this one. Send it!! 🤟👍

OMG they're proud of teaching wedge turns. It's as if we're still on straight skis. This is proof positive that mainstream ski instruction hasn't progressed in years. What's the worst product you can buy at a ski area? A ski lesson.
@Sneakyeggs6 ай бұрын
Wedge turns are yes still taught to beginners. You weren't parallel skiing when you first started either. Don't be a dumba**. Especially on steep slopes.

-The Results According to Blake : ) - *1st Place goes to Number 13 at 17:07. Alpine Performance. *2nd Place, I will give to Number 7 at 14:41. Beautiful Alpine/Freestyle Blend Style. *3nd Place goes to Number 33 at 4:53. This is very good. Solid Alpine Performance. *4th Place At 5:23 Number 28 is pretty smooth. Strong Performance. This is Freestyle Skiing. Well Done. *5th Place I have Number 22 in excellent flashy style at 5:52. *6th Place I will give to Skier Number 31 at 10:00. This skier is Stylistically Right Between Freestyle and Alpine. Nice Performance. *7th Place goes to Number 30 at 6:54. Good Alpine Skiing. Just a little wild looking. *8th Place, Number 23 is very good at 1:14. Very Strong Style and Very Functional Looking. Natural. Perhaps not the prettiest style out there that day. *This Ranking is difficult. For example, I find 2nd Place to be Stylistically Most Similar to the Skier that I have in 5th Place... While my 1st Place skier is Stylistically Similar to the skiers who I put in 3rd and 7th Place. -Honorable Mentions - Number 34 at 3:00 is a good female. Nice and smooth. I would date her, and so this is perhaps the greatest prize winner of all. Number 25 at 4:23 is pretty good. Number 26 at 9:23, honorable female performance. Not too bad at all. Number 24 at 10:28 is female? This is a strong performance. Chest out honey. Sit back like you're in a chair. Chin up. This was nearly a top performance. Number 11 at 15:50 is pretty cute and skilled. She is welcome to contact me too. We will make a ski video. Honorable mention, Skier Numbers 1-6 were all on the right track. There were even more. I had trouble picking a top 8.

I like the skier at 7:44, who displays nice form. There is excellent momentum with each turn, because they are doing proper rhymical S shaped turns. Quiet upper body, with a completely still head, while the legs are turning underneath the body. Likewise are the skiers at 8:33 and 13:09.
@Skedawg88Ай бұрын
7:44 ? I agree. The other two? Not so much.
@jeffscott722310 ай бұрын
The skier at 7:24 is demonstrating excellent carved turns. Very dynamic, with hips almost touching the snow. Excellent stacked athletic position which in turn helps with the explosive speed out of each turn. Also there is no upper body upward movement to initiate turns but instead they pull the legs up for weight transfer and then extend them towards the apex. Skis are turning underneath the body. Very early turn initiation. Well done.
