Thanks for the video, did you notice any issues with the brake pads? I was thinking of just changing brake fluid to Motul 600’s or 660’s for my track day.
@thekrogmanman
@thekrogmanman Жыл бұрын
Sorry for the slow reply. Just saw this! I did exactly what you are thinking of doing. We put RBF 600 in there and it was a HUGE difference. That said, it is still pretty easy to over heat the brakes. Mine got glazed pretty badly after a few times on the track and they lost a lot of stopping power and would heat up pretty quickly, even on the street. I'd say if your brakes are about 50% and under, go out there and have a good time and just get some seat time. If they are fairly new, it might make more sense to look at another option that would hold up better at the track rather than destroy your stock set.

Seriously what is the diff between this and just removing the res n then welding the pipes? I’ve heard the 034 res-x is just a metal pipe
@edward1927
@edward1927 3 ай бұрын
It's exactly the same concept. The 034 unit is just a pre-bent pipe with clamps. Otherwise you're going to a muffler shop and paying them probably the same price to weld a pipe in. Unless you have a pipe bender.

Hey. I have a B9 A5 and it makes the same weird noise in the cabin yours does. I'm not taking about anything to do with the res delete. If you listen at 2:15 then again at 2:20 there's a weird noise, like an actuator trying to move but can't. Are you or anyone else aware of it, and/or have an idea as to what it might be? I wouldn't know exactly since I don't know CA exact laws but I bet you'd be fine. I've heard much louder cars in CA. The car really isn't very loud with the resonator out. Just about 20% - 30% more noise I would guess.

can the DSG farts be a little raspy/obnoxious with the res delete? especially under full throttle.
@thekrogmanman
@thekrogmanman 2 жыл бұрын
I don't think they are obnoxious. It's subjective really, but they were really pretty mild. I thought it was a good balance of a mild exhaust when you drove easy and just enough sound to feel like it is sporty when you are driving spirited. The only time I dont really like it is when you are driving through the neighborhood with the engine cold. I thought it sounded a little ricey for about 1 minute of driving.
@boostseason
@boostseason 2 жыл бұрын
@@thekrogmanman thanks for the reply! that's good to hear. the example video on 034's website make it seem like the DSG farts are SUPER raspy, but other videos they seem tame so idk what that could be. but yeah I have heard when its cold, its a little... Honda Civic-y haha. Overall do you think its worth it? I want something subtle, but sporty. my car is also a daily driver. Would prob also pair it with the 034 intake.
@thekrogmanman

@@boostseason That's exactly what you'll get. My car was tame enough for clients to ride in. The intake will add even more noise than the rest delete. I cut my airbox and got some turbo noise but not a ton. Same goal, comfortable daily but sporty when you want it to be.

@thekrogmanman

There aren't any sensors on the OEM resonator so I don't think it should have any effect at all on emissions. It's just designed to remove a certain frequently of the exhaust note.

@@blizteredthumbs7911 I haven't had any issues but the UK could be different. By the way, normally I recommend just going to a trusted muffler shop rather than doing the bolt on 034 Motorsport option.
