i’m sorry it took me a second to get back to your kind messages!! thank you so so much! 🥺 even since this stream i have learned so much about german airspace and flying correctly in general, i flew out of Bremen last night and had no problems at all. the controllers in that area are very amazing, as you said, so it’s no wonder they require additional training!! i plan on doing more of these soon, i am purchasing the PMDG 737-800 tomorrow and plan on doing a route with that !! stay tuned! i hope to see you at future streams!!! 💕

its actually not even German accent. We don't talk english when communication, but instead there is a special form of pronouncing words that makes it more clear over the transmission. Eg. three is pronounced like tree. This is also a real thing

I'm really happy seing more people flying on VATSIM. I'd love to see more streams from you :) However, as someone who has controlled Ground before, it is giving me anxiety watching you push back without getting clearance from Ground. You *always* talk to your controller before you move your aircraft. Also, us controllers are chill, so talk to us if you don't know what to do. We're here to help you.

The controllers did everything correctly. How it works: Delivery only hands out flight plans. and approves start-up. Start-up and pushback don't necessarily happen at the same time and are two different things. eg. if you're standing at a taxi-out position, you don't need any pushback, but still need start-up, which you get from DEL. Apron/Ground: control any and all movements on the ground. Whenever you move your aircraft, you must have clearance from Ground. For pushback you'd get something like: You:"Ground EZY123, requesting pushback" GND:"EZY123, pushback approved facing north". (or if there is traffic behind you and you have to wait: "EZY123, standby for traffic", in which case the controller will come back to you; no need call every minute) Tower: only for departure and landings. responsible for the runways and the immediate airspace. After that it depends on the airport and staffed positions. Also, typically controllers are right. They went through extensive training before being allowed to control...

Not sure if you have gotten it some other way, but normally you'd start by getting the current ATIS, which for EDDV is on 136.575, I think. There you'd get all the information about current departure and arrival runways, weather, and further important information.

It's actually crazy. I started the training for controlling Munich and Nürnberg Tower, which I, unfortunately, had to stop because life has gotten a bit busy. But we actually only have simulated radar screens, just like real-life ATC. The training is kept as closely to the real thing as possible. We use material from the actual DFS (Deutsche Flugsicherung / German Flight Safety). It takes about 6-8 months to get a fully certified controller for Munich Delivery, Apron, Ground, and Tower. For everything above that, you need additional training. But even for just the training I have started building up a binder with all kinds of different charts and notes, which I needed for efficiently control. It's really fun!
