The apartment unit my aunt lived in had one of those. She lives in an ADA unit, hence the horn/strobe there, along with there being an RSS in the bedroom. This was when the high-rise apartment complex had a Notifier system from the 1990s with Wheelock MT4-24-WM horn/strobes in the hallways and common areas and the MIZ alarms in the units, along with the S.H. Couch pull stations from when the complex was built in 1971 and a mix of Pyrotector, Edwards, ESL and System Sensor smoke detectors from the 1970s to the 2000s. (The original horns were likely Couch-rebranded Vibratone 350 horns, since I saw one intact in a similar apartment complex.) The complex upgraded in 2018 to a Notifier NFS2-3030 voice-evac system (and believe me, they really needed it!), and so they replaced the MIZ-24-LSM in the living/kitchen area in my aunt's unit with a System Sensor L-series remote strobe and the RSS in the bedroom with an L-series speaker/strobe. My aunt finds the new fire alarm system much less brutal-sounding than the old one.

Hi there..I recently moved into a 20 yr old condominium and heard the ear piercing sounds come out of the two that are installed inside. I also see there is a red bell outside. I saw on another thread this was also used as a sprinkler system 🤷♀️. I cannot find any info on the company. I have detached one wire and seemed to do the job. However if this needs more maintenance and and indicator of water leakage I would like to know. TIA
@BlackLightning45479 күн бұрын
First off, tampering with life safety equipment(detaching a wire from alarms) without a license is illegal, have a license electrician/technician come out to inspect the system. Secondly, fire bells are used either as a general fire alarm or for water flow within the sprinkler system. The water flow switch trips when a sprinkler activates. A small water leak(within the sprinkler system specifically) doesn't usually provide enough flow to trip the switch.

I also have one of these, and I absolutely am baffled at it. Made by SigCom, but it feels like an absolute toy. It runs on the XP95 protocol, with compatibility for Discovery and CoreProtocol. This thing does not deserve its UL listing in my opinion; you can literally remove the front of it without using the key

This is all that my current school has. It sucks because my old school had a wheelock AS, a few TrueAlerts, a bunch of 2901-9838's and 2903 light plates, a 4903-9220, and a Wheelock 7001T. Man I miss that system so much.

@BlackLightning4547Ай бұрын
If it's the MB(motor bell) series, then yes, they won't sound good coded. The 43t and 46t vibrating bell series will sound good coded however.

Thank you! I have an oscilloscope, which is a tool to measure oscillating wavelengths. I used such tool on the Wheelock DSM, System Sensor MDL, and the MS-5UD for Gentex, Amseco, and Faraday/Siemens sync. I took the readings and inputted them into my Arduino IDE code, fine tuned the timings, and boom.
