Somewhere over the Rainbow by Billy Thorpe & the Aztecs. Greatest Aussie pop song ever. It still gives me goosebumps 55 years later. Billy had a superb voice. I'll luv you forever Billy. Douglas.

Billy plays guitar ike Beck and Knopfler: No pick and letting the finger contact with the strings fully resonate,. Which really informs his avante garde music/songwriting. He was more of a 60's artist like Randy California, Eric Burdon or The Beatles, who somehow reached into some cosmic/metaphysical wellspring of futuristic creativity/inspiration in making the "Children Of The Sun" LP. He got some FM airplay in the U.S/UK with guys like Jim Ladd/Peel other "high"-minded DJ's gave Billy his due presciently but sparingly. But he was never appreciated or understood the way he should have been.

Lovely tribute to one of this country's most talented and respected musos. Love all of Billy's songs but Most People I Know Think I'm Crazy is my favourite. Sadly, taken too soon from this mortal realm but I bet he's rockin' it in rock'n'roll Heaven.

14 years old, heard Children of the Sun on WDVE Pittsburgh PA. This song and original album the actual one I purchased impacted my life, now on CD I still crank it up. Took me weeks but finally found out the artist song and album. Ran to my local mall in central PA and picked up my copy. Then a mystery occurred that only in 1987 did I discover the answer to. None of my friends were able to buy the record for themselves. For years I made cassette copies of the original album. The notes in the CD Children of the Sun Revisited explained that the record company had only managed to produce a total of 500,000 copies before it went bankrupt and the music rights were tied up all those years. Rock on in the next universe until we all meet and become Children of the Sun.

19:15 LRB signed with *EMI's* American subsidiary(infant toddler in EMI group), Capitol. Should've been no need to do so because Capitol, being the mere *infant toddler* of the EMI group, should've been obliged to carry *ALL* LRB albums and singles anyway. EMI(Australia) Ltd. having the much greater *DIVISION* status within the EMI group, equivalent to being one of the *adult offspring* in the family.

Glen Shorrock's career goes back *FURTHER* than Little River Band. From 1965 to 1968 he led *The Twilights,* the group included Terry Britten, who went on to write for Cliff Richard, among others. From 1969 to 1971 he fronted *Axiom* which boasted ex-Groop frontman, Brian Cadd who, post-Axiom carved out a successful solo career. Between stints in front of Axiom and LRB, Shorrock did some solo work, and even while with LRB he had recorded the odd solo track.

You want to hear some of the best blues rock guitar. Billy was definitely a king on the hill. He could rock non stop just tearing it up. Children of the sun got great air play in the states. But billy was so much more than that. Can't believe he's gone. But his music is forever.
