@@criss206 It was at that time. She said what deep down Aqua wanted to hear. There is a reason as to why Aqua never opens up to Kana about any of that stuff, and it's because Akane is the only one who understands him (his own words).

@@zamaskowany12 It was stated in any part of the manga that Akane said that because that's what he wanted to hear? I'm genuinely curious. My interpretation was that Akane said what she was really feeling, she wanted to help Aqua in everyway posible even if it was a crime

​@@criss206 Well, it's like I said, from my interpretation Aqua was testing her. He opens up to her, "You wouldn’t understand, not that I’m going to tell you anyway", he says, before proceeding to do just that. He gives it his best shot, even turning his dark stare on her. He is testing her. Laying a trap so that when she naturally judges him for his less than noble intentions, he can convince himself that that moment of comfort she gave him was nothing but a mirage. Of course she wouldn’t understand, no one can understand. He's being honest with the goal of scaring Akane off. However, Aqua, who is always at odds with himself, is simultaneously also hoping Akane will prove him wrong, because he wants to believe her. He really does want to believe someone out there can understand him. And Akane sees through the trap into what Aqua truly wants, and tells him exactly what he needs to hear. She doesn’t encourage him, neither does she tell him that he’s wrong. She listens to him without judgement and tells him, in no uncertain terms, that she is willing to share that burden with him. Just like she told him she would. And that kind of companionship and acceptance means the world to Aqua, who thinks so little of himself. It even chases the darkness from his eyes, turning the black star back into its usual white. (seen better in the manga) (SPOILER BELOW) This is all highlighted later. First in Chapter 65, where Goro reveals that finally finding someone who understands him (Akane) is one of the reasons that makes Aqua start to believe he can be happy. And in Chapter 97, where Aqua has a monologue about how Akane acknowledging him and accepting him as he is has saved him little by little (He recalled the balcony scene as he said those words to her).

I mean, people justify the way Kana acts toward others bc of how much she went through....but people ALSO have to take into account what Akane went through, which, let's be honest, was a very traumatic experience, and in this case specifically, SOMEONE saved her (Aqua). Her "devotion" to him is a way of trying to help with what HE thinks it's the best. If he had said anything there, she'd have agreed. I know people say it's possible to "not be biased", but in Akane/Kana case, i think it's very much impossible. People WILL have double standards to both of them depending on who they like more.

Just because she's devoted to him because he saved her life DOES NOT mean she has to pay him back by agreeing to murder somebody with him, there are countless other ways to help him

Oh yeah I very much love Akane as well, but I really was not a fan of her response there

@@bluestReacts agreed, killing is never the way to go to fix someone (unless its johan or griffith). But in the case of akane is she doesn’t want aqua to fall into the abyss alone as the way she sees it no one other than herself understands him, but knowing her nature i wont be suprise if at certain point they pulled a monster and get akane blood on her hands so that her “savior” is always pure and worthy of admiration

I think you're not taking the entirety of my statement, I said the comments/insults Akane threw at Kana, were very telling of how little show actually knows of the CURRENT Kana, "you probably just feel that way 'cause you think of yourself as someone real special" when we know as a fact Kana is the literal hardest on herself harder than ANYBODY else. As she continually made self deprecating jokes all last season and was completely down on herself countless times. She is the farthest thing from thinking she's special. "Just who do you think I am? I'm a genius child actor." Akane says mockingly, When we know Kana has been trying SO DESPERATELY hard to break away from her child actress days. Same thing here with the line "The way you cling to your past glory is a disgrace. Are you even making an effort to improve." THESE are the comments I'm referencing, all these comments say to me is that you know nothing about the current Kana. Whatever Akane THINKS she sees/knows has no meaning whatsoever, because that isn't who Kana ACTUALLY is. And those statements clearly prove that. As you pointed out she thinks her personality is still trashy, which it might kind of be, but every other statement above is backpacking off that initial assumption, which while the initial assumption might be somewhat correct that only proves that Akane knows Kana on a very surface level because every other comment is incorrect.

@@bluestReacts while i do understand some of her comments might have been superficial, you have to agree Akane has 0 reasons to believe Kana has changed if her attitude is trashy, SPECIFICALLY with her. That's why i said, Akane has every reason possible to not like Kana, and even if some Kana fans don't like to admit it, SHE started this (by "this" i'm not saying this ep btw 😂 i'm saying about the whole beef between them). Its just kinda frustrating that some people look at the situation and can't see Akane side at all. The girl literally has beef with her bc of "pride, acting methods and jealousy" and people still think Akane has no motive to have grudges. Btw, i am TOTALLY against holding grudges, but the only exception i see fit is if the person demonstrate through acts and words that they didn't change....and like we all know, Kana "tsundereness" brings the worst of her depending on the person. I'm not mad at you Bluest, it's just that, it's kinda hard (and you might agree with me here) that Akane ALREADY has so much against her (the popularity, the story itself, the fans, etc) and even when the show tries to show a little more of her side, people still don't like it. It seems that, for every Kana flaw that they show, people give 0 judgment and condemn, but for every flaw Akane shows, people condemn her 10x more. And again, i usually side with the weaker side (usually), that in this case, was, and still is, Akane.

He'll understand soon (probably next episode) why Akane is the one who understand how's Kana's feeling, why's Kana do "that kind of acting" right now. Not just understand Kana tho, Akane also literally can understand and be (feel) sympathy to other characters as well, anyone, like understand to Aqua too. 🙏👀😊🤭🤭🤭

But IMO this isn't something she should support morally, her debt to him doesn't mean she has to follow him into murder, there is countless other ways she can help him

A better angle is that Ruby does not want Aqua to turn into a person that ruined Ai's live.

I'm not saying to straight up tell him it's wrong, that's not what I'm saying at all, I'm saying she needs to steer him away from it, flat out telling him no is just not correct and not what I was trying to say

OH yeah, I did not make that connection at all that Ruby would've been pissed because Aqua knows their mothers experience as a teen mom

I've gotta say that i've watched a bunch of reactions and there is only one other reactor that wasn't just overly excited at Akane's claim of wanting to help him kill. This is really concerning considering that this is really Akane at her worst like you said...lol

@@deadline6149 i've seen some. Most people were excited, but i think that's just something in the moment. Tbh, my main problem with this whole thing is that people will criticize her for THIS MOMENT HERE, and ignore everything before and after. It's like if i take Kana's trash attitude when she was a kid and condemn her forever.

@@deadline6149 i'd like to say yes, BUT the fact that Kaguya next season still haven't come out, and that the manga ended for a while now, AND the fact that is (apparently) way more popular than ONK, i wouldn't have my exepctations that high. And btw, there are all kinds of people there, and i believe many of them still will flip-flop between Kana and Akane as the story goes through...and this is kinda fun LOL Also, it's funny that last ep you were kinda "worried" that people were rooting for Akane last week, but just as you predicted, MANY got out of her team after this....although there are some exagerations out there calling her a "psycho". People don't even know what a psychopath is tbh.

Fun fact: i just saw a guy commenting that the anime cut out "Kana mentioning Akane suicide in this episode" from the manga. The lenght some hater is willing to go spreading misinformation is insane...makes me regret "being part " of this fandom...Akane and Kana don't deserve so much hate..lol.

No, this particular English localized, or should I say Americanized, version ruined a lot of the jokes because of the excessive use of American slangs. In some places, the subs don't even reflect the dialogs as the localizers just put it in their own words instead.

While i like this version of sub a lot because of all the jokes i have to agree, this version isn't accurate at all. While i like to watch it in this sub for fun, i prefer to do first watch in russian sub, since it's much more close to what being said in the show.

It is hilarious how many people completely misinterpret Yuki as being serious. Like... does she even look serious? She's quite literally just doing the wincest trope in the manga her and her brother read as a joke cuz she literally can't act like her real self to anyone else.
