I considered going to this event, but it was out of my price range to attend. Also, would be great if the BDR organization released the routes for these events. Regardless, as a rider, I appreciate what the RideBDR organization does for the riding community.

Zero aka Ev =evil. Never never owning one as they are a govscam Obamanation. Not wasting my time to charge. I don’t drink coffee. I own 6 motorcycles. Gas is better for the environment than Evil batteries. Other than that I will do this route next summer thanks for the great video.

This is a great route before tackling the entire Oregon BDR. The only thing I don’t see on the gpx file is where is the stone house. Would love to take my son there

They had a grader and a roller. In this area, I’m not sure they would need a water truck. Dropping base seasonally would make it a sweet road. The blade man could have stopped and suggested what to do, or just let you guys by, but like some blade operators, he’s a prima donna prick. I run blades, it’s not that damn hard. They act like their 💩doesn’t stink sometimes. What a jerk.

I was enjoying this video and think about doing this route until one of the guys held up a confederate plate that said, “Southern Ideas are Rising Again!” Like which ideas, slavery, segregation, Jim Crowe? Just absolutely terrible!

Great video, thanks. The black hills BDR is on my list for next late summer/early fall. I would love to ride my Africa Twin, but since I'm old and ride solo all the time, I'll probably ride my KTM 500EXC. Also, I appreciated the info on the E-bike. It's not something I'll ever change to at my age, but it's great to see these bikes coming around for those that favor them. I've ridden a small one and was pretty impressed at the performance.

One point about the BDR X routes that I didn’t hear mentioned is, they form a loop. That is important if you plan to ride a small bike and trailer it to the BDR. Starting and ending at or near the same place makes trailering the bikes so much easier, compared to the more linear, full sized BDR routes, where the start and end points are several hundred miles apart. There are several established dirt ride routes in northern New England that can easily be spliced together to form a BDR X type loop route of 4 or 5 days riding. I have taken a small group on a 5 Day ride that included the Hampster Route, Bayley Hazen Military Road, Puppy Dog Route (south) and Trans Mass Trail. This was very Big Bike Friendly, but more challenging sections can be found and added by using other established tracks. The point is, it’s very easy to find unpaved tracks of varying condition throughout northern New England (Maine, NH, VT). You could spend several days in Vermont alone, just using the various versions of the Puppy Dog Route, Dirty Dog Route, Bayley Hazen Road, and BDR section 4 & 5.

Ah the mid 2000's, when ADV bikes were bike and gorgeous (Big KTM 900s...), the riding gear was way over built, and solid panniers were the mainstay.

Another clown comment about the Donner tragedy and he even laughed. I'm not a bleeding heart but these people were as tough (or tougher) than any BDR rider and a moment of silence would have been more appropriate.

My son and I did the loop in two days. That was too much for my 58 yr old bones. Three days would've been much better. We avoided the optional knarly stuff. There was a car rally race in a pretty large section that threw us off the the loop for a while. Was a good time with my son but 2nd day was a little too long. I was ready to get off.

I've ridden the trails around Mammoth many times. I'm sure this is an excellent route. That said, why the primary bike in all of these BDR films are 500lb+ 'adventure' bikes continues to baffle me. Notice all of the crashing? The right tool for the job is a lightweight bike with moto bags.

Because they have to show it can be done. You know others are going to take those bikes, it would obviously be easier on a dirtbike, but you have to prove it can be ridden on a 1200GS with full luggage.

BMW doesn't have the pedigree in any auto/moto sport that would justify charging double the price of a comparable Dual Sport. The prices on the GS series, especially the R1250, would be hilarious if not offensive. BMW cars are hideous looking s**t piles with an abysmal racing record in TOCA, they aren't even present in F1, they have finished behind Japanese manufactures in MotoGP for the last 25 years and I see nothing in the GS line that makes it worth double the V-Strom or Africa Twin. I will stick with an unbeatable record and unbeatable features with my Africa Twin. I can by the top trim, fit it completely, buy myself all the body gear I need...all for less than the GS1250. Insane greed.

Love the WYBDR footage. When I rode through Wyoming on the Continental Divide it just looks like Wyoming is a big desert, but it has so much more to offer. I will say, I enjoy the serene and wide open empty spaces of the desert more than most, but love the footage your team has captured. Makes me wanna ride the BDR! Keep up the great work.

This helps convince me I need a DR650 more than any of those other bikes. I have a 690 but I bet the little Suzuki is a better tractor for these sorts of trails. Probably wear you out much less!
