Watching numerous videos of yours and several others, has really helped me think of the best possible way to make the players feel like they still have an advantage. I have been building a campaign idea for about 2 years now, and it has been revised numerous times to be better because of your insight. I thank you!

This would actually be a really cool concept for a Sphinx's challenge Like imagine you need to get the legendary magic item from the insane wizards palace and the Sphinx puts you through this one shot to see if you're worthy to enter the treasure room

I hate it when GMs complain about the players always turning to violence, but then also set up every single encounter in a way that it inevitably is violence with the enemy acting on the first turn.

I ran this for my group and we all enjoyed it thoroughly. It took us 4 sessions (we get distracted a lot) and the set took me around 10 hours to build (I think? I did it over the span of a few days). The difficulty of the adventure is quite high but there are ways around some of the fights using a bit of out of the box thinking. I had to give the players a long rest and cut out some of the features of the final fight so they would even stand a chance but it was still a fun adventure to play through. It's quite expensive for what it is but I'd recommend it to more experienced groups that are looking for a different way to explore DND.

If I had that I’d have the dragon, moments before doing battle, be impaled by the alien kaiju moc I made as it uses its spindly limbs to scale the tower, it’s grotesque face rising ominously above the adventurers, spiked tail and scythe-like limbs poised to strike.

What’s funny is this is almost EXACTLY what I use for DnD! I’ve upgraded a bit since then, though, so now I use a similar map (although it’s wet erase), wet erase markers (I learned the hard way not to use warm colors though!), a laptop to keep track of my book PDFs, tables, dice, and homebrew world, as well as looking up rulings quickly and helping with character creation + leveling, and various tiny figures I used to play with when I was a kid.
