I've certainly had great performance out of the Polaris bikes, starting with the Victory brand and so far this Scout has continued to be great! And with the number of new riders to the brand, ensuring there is awareness of how they can self maintain their bikes is great for the community. 👍

I did size up to XXL. I'm 6'0" and 220 with a beer gut. After removing the cheese they call armor, the shirt is very comfortable. Finally got a small break from the heat yesterday, only 110, and while it was anything but cool, the air flow in this shirt was great!

Just subscribed to your channel! I have a question/request about your upcoming running lights video. Can you please show the step by step process of how you mount and connect the wiring of the running lights? I want to add running lights as well, but I'm uncertain how to do the wiring. Also, do you have any recommendations on what brand/model of lights would work best? Thank you, I appreciate your time.

Sure thing! I've been piecing together my plan and think I I'm going to start with the Octane. Being the wiring up front is pretty much the same between the two bikes, I'll do more detail!

Forgot to answer the brand question. There are so many lower cost options available, but I still think there is an aspect of support. Examples such as Eagle Lights or Custom Dynamics. Past projects where I was stuck, I was able to call and they got back me. They researched bike wiring diagrams and walked me thru what I needed to do. Headlights, I would absolutely stay away from them both, it's a simple upgrade and they are far too expensive. These little running lights in going to install on both bikes, one came from Eagle (4th of July sale) and the other are $22 off Amazon. I want to compare. But now that I've done from signals a few times, I am less concerned with running into issues. Which I'll be sure to walk thru when I sit down to do the install. Which will probably be a few weeks before I get the chance.

Thanks so much for the video! I was watching your heel/toe shifter video and found this. Do you have forward controls? I'm thinking about ordering these pipes, but my back brake control is definitely farther back than yours!

Yes, Free Spirit extended controls. But that should not be an issue to be running stock. Scout mount is very wide compared to Octane. I will grab a photo tomorrow to show the space that would still be available with stock position.

This video may help visualize the space. I filled in some additional info in description, such as making more space by removing the controls mounting bolts temporarily while you do the install. So true, if performance is the end goal. And also true how some pipes bring out the higher pitch. While I like the look of straight pipes I had recently cut very short, the tone was off and the decrease in bikes responsiveness was clear. At lower RPM these pipes sound awesome, and the bike response is far better in the power band.

@pmtz84 the Octane is wicked sweet ride, but having only a single build year and the difference between frame and other portions of the bike, accessories are horrible to come by. It is the only reason I bought the Rogue as a 2nd bike. Closed option at the time.

Appreciate the videos. Down in Portland and have a Rogue as well. These videos have been great. Question: What brake light and plate mount are you running? I caught it in the New Rage Rear Signal video.
@scoutane
@scoutane Ай бұрын
The plate mount is Combustion Industries X-Wing but last I checked he wasn't selling it. I don't know it that's a long term or short term status as I only checked this past week. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/rsuZh9ppktyXfmw.htmlsi=YRTaoQO8iOYubETJ Loved the idea of the mount but it's being held together with steel zip ties because the bolts holding it's two pieces both fell out, at different times. Making it worse, the bolt holding it to the frame stripped due to poor quality, so I cannot get base off. My plan now is to mount plate on back of a saddlebag because the X-Wing is flopping around and taken some paint off the fender. Ugh.
@scoutane
@scoutane Ай бұрын
Hey. Sorry I missed the tail light question. First, I was able to find the X-WING on Etsy: www.etsy.com/listing/1567720992/ ID suggest making sure it's tight and buttoned up to avoid the problems I've had. The tail lights are New Rage and come with OEM connection to make them plug and play. a.co/d/6TzwchU The lights are bright enough at night but daylight performance is poor, leading me to adding the light strip to ensure better visibility.

@@scoutaneI just rewatched It, that wire that came from the headlight is a power option for accessories because it’s “keyed “. Looks like that’s about the only way to get DRLs on the scouts or octanes.
@scoutane
@scoutane 2 ай бұрын
@wudaa2524 yes, you are correct. I was using it for DRL on this bike. On the Octane, I connected an SAE adapter for USB and mounting to base of handlebars to make easy connection to phone for power. And don't have to worry about draining the battery.

I saw you have an SAE charger plug coming out of the seat towards the back (i think). I just wanted to let you know in case you don't, behind the ignition key cover they have a built in OEM plug. I have a 2022 Rogue. I live in Chicagoland and that owner guy let me ride up the the Super Shocks building (they usually don't do installs) and installed mine. I returned them because they didn't work for me, I have tried Legends Revo-A, Racing Bros, Ohline blackline, Progressive 444, and Super Shox. Progressive 444 standard duty 11.5' was the winner for me.

There are some great micro lights, LED light stripes, as well as these Rage lights. If I'd think to do it again, I'd even think of putting light stripes on rear of the bags, deleting the Rage lights and strip I've currently put along tip of fender. May still do it even, but not crazy about pullibg bags off just to mess with wiring all over again.

The Rage signals are available from all the big name online motorcycle shops, as well as Amazon : a.co/d/01C16cR For the bags, go to www.vikingbags.com and if you search by bike, search by the standard Indian Scout, not the Bobber or Rogue. This will reveal widest range of bags. They come with FAT brackets for mounting, which make for an easy installation. I do have a video for the bags themselves, also. Be sure to check that, I share a small amount about the brackets the bags come with.

Viking Lamellar Raven Extra Large Indian Scout Leather Covered Motorcycle Hard Saddlebags. I get the appeal of bobber life but function has to be accounted for, IMHO. These bags are solid and I can fit my XXL thin leather jacket in one bag. My riding flannel has armor in spine and elbows and can cram in, also. My worry was about mounting. But this bag comes with exceptional steel brackets that have held up for nearly 2000 miles now. And still no budge. Extremely satisfied!
