This might indeed be true. I've got a portable Nespresso capsule type coffee maker (Cera+) and the equivalent of the toothed ring is completely smooth (and very narrow, almost sharp). It does not leak with non-Nespresso capsules, made of aluminium but without the silicone seal. My DeLonghi EN 550, with the toothed ring, does leak with non-Nespresso capsules, as described.

Thanks buddy. Had to lube the switch at the top, so I used food safe oil (olive oil lol) and it's slick as a duck's back now 👍

I managed to fix mine without taking it apart, first using a toothbrush to clean the plate from the inside, and then spraying canned air throught the pouring nozzle. It worked, but taking it apart will enable a thorough cleansing.

Hello Adrian, what if while brewing coffee water leaks from the top where the coffee capsule is, then flows down the housing behind the cup and does not go to the water trough but to the countertop, does replacing the part number ms-622718 help solve this problem? 🤔

Hey Adrian! Just wanted to leave a big THANK YOU! I was able to repair our Citiz & Milk thanks to your videos, but I did indeed have to take out and clean the O Ring in the brewing unit. Water was spitting out on the top and on the bottom, like a Nespresso water fountain 🤣

This is one of the worst models actually. It is difficult to get apart. It makes a hell of a lot of noise. If you want to make a coffee when it's late, the neighbours may think you are drilling in the bathroom, or your wife has got a heavy duty kick-starting vibrator and is using it many times a day. The Essensa in my opinion is much nicer, easy to take apart, not as noisy because Nespresso introduced an innovation they came up with, which is a rubber setup to which the noisy pump is attached, this model her doesn't have that and so amplifies sound by having the pump laid pretty much against the plastic of the machine.

Nice, concise instructions made this a simple task. Regarding o-rings, I picked up a couple at my local hardware store. I just took the o-ring I removed from the water tank and matched it up there.
