Umm... for checking file integrity visually, wouldn't it be easier to just render the cryptographic checksum (SHA256 / MD5 / etc) as QR code?

Luciferase: I can laugh about it now, but when I was a kid, perhaps 12 years old I took a shortcut through the woods on the way from a friend’s house to home, and encountered a glowing rotten tree trunk with plenty of Jack o lanterns surrounded it. It really gave me the creeps.

This idea is not that weird. It has been discovered independently by several people (including myself about five years ago or so). Rupert Sheldrake wrote about it recently but it was dismissed by his peers (probably because of the way he presented it). I also think there is a work of fiction out there somewhere that presents this idea but I couldn't find it. A closely related idea is panpsychism, which is even more speculative. I think since it has been proposed by multiple people independently over time, it may be worth developing into an actual hypothesis. Here are references that I found on it: "Consciousness Does Not Need To Be Confined To Brains." (Fringe Theory Claims The Sun May Be Conscious); Futurism; Noor Al-Sibai; March 23, 2024 Is the Sun Conscious?; Rupert Sheldrake; Journal of Consciousness Studies; 2021 Is Our Sun Conscious?; A theory of stellar consciousness; Alexei Novak; Medium; Aug. 19, 2024

I’ve been having these same thoughts/ideas revisit me for a while. Romans and Greeks certainly associated their gods to planets, elements and feelings. I start to believe these things are living in a way through us perhaps via our senses. You made this video a while ago. Have you got an update on your thoughts?

@@AshleyMillsTube AI!? Maybe talk on that conclusion. Personally I don’t think that can ever happen as ai can never ever be real consciousness. The closest it is to consciousness is now, keeping us in a behaviour loop.

I picked one today , it did not go yellow at the base but it did on the cap, a thin layer went a bright yellow, so I kind of peel it off and cooked them, they looked so good and didn’t smell bad, ( but there was a bit of garlic salt and herbs in the pan, so I don’t know if that hid the bad smell), I wasn’t sure so I threw it out, but I really wanted to eat it!

I've asked giant marrow growers what they do with it, and no one ever said they eat it, it was just for competition, 80-100 lbs. In the States we rarely see ''marrow'' which I've been told is like a giant zucchini. We stuff zucchini with ground beef, rice, tomato and cheese (cheddar, cottage cheese, parm and mozz.) plus all the spices and herbs much like a stuffed pepper.

@@AshleyMillsTube Well it appears she is changing her story to suit the evidence. I live in Australia and there has been no recall on any mushroom variety by any grocery chain or independent Asian grocer. If they were at all worried about cross contamination I’m sure there would have been a recall/warning from authorities. So yes, very suspicious!

Your video really helped me identify the chanterelles I have blooming in my dooryard near an old pecan tree. They were there last year, around the same time and the same spot but I had just moved house and wasn't sure and didn't want to risk getting ill. Your video does a much better job explaining how to identify, your specimen examples are better than other videos. Thank you!

I've picked yellow stainers and horse mushrooms and sometimes it is difficult to tell the difference. Sometimes the horse mushrooms go a little bit yellow and sometimes the yellow stainer doesn't stain that much or smell too bad. Best tip I found is to put a lump in the microwave on full for 20-30 seconds; the yellow stainer comes out with a pool of bright gold liquid and now smells awful, whereas the horse mushroom smells good and has brown juices.

When Chuck Norris eats Amanita Phalloides mushrooms, they get automatically converted to Amanita Caesarea ones. When Joe Biden eats a death cap, the mushroom itself forgets to be poisonous. When Donald Trump eats one, his face turns from orange to green but the mushroom loses the debate against his digestive system. When Bill Clinton eats one, the 'Phalloides' part of the name takes on a literal meaning.

Great mushroom when left alone, it pumps lots of moisture into the roots of trees, being of great help to them and yes, it helps other, EDIBLE mushrooms (like King Boletes for example) grow bigger and in larger numbers precisely because of pumping that moisture into the roots of trees it shares with those edible mushrooms. The slugs love it and get no poisoning whatsoever because their digestive system does not process any amatoxins (might as well leave something for them to munch on too since we get to pick most of the other mushrooms). All we gotta do is learn how to always recognize it and simply leave it alone. And Ashley pointed that all out too.
