Welsh is a phonetic language so really easy to pronounce properly once you know all the sounds as everything is pronounced exactly as it looks, it's just we have our own alphabet which is different to English and every letter has it's own very particular sound, learning how to pronounce LL is a great start to understanding as very few non-Welsh people can ever pronounce it, I'd say about 50% of English who genuinely think they've nailed it and can say it properly.... are still getting it wrong! It's also a sound which is virtually impossible to represent in English, it's not clan or hlan or anything similar, it's like trying to tell someone what a cough or a sneeze sounds like without actually coughing or sneezing. Llangollen is a wonderful town with a bit of a trick up it's sleeve, every year it hosts the International Eisteddfod, a celebration of the arts, singing, dancing and poetry, people from all over the world travel their to perform traditional music and dance from their home nation, whilst wearing their traditional national dress, it's absolutely incredible, so if you ever want to actually nail Welsh pronunciation go and spend a few days there!

Numbers 1 and 2. Are we not calling #1 a row home and #2 a twin home? In the northeast, a duplex looks like what was pictured, but it has 2 apartments on each side.

The Yorkshires are good, but everything else...Where's the veg, the mash, the horse radish? And the gravy isn't a side, you cover your food on it.

How odd that people find it strange that someone might eat a horse, yet they themselves think it's perfectly normal to eat a cow, or a pig, or a chicken etc which are just as sentient. Cognitive dissonance at its best. If you actually love animals, you don't pay for them to be slaughtered, none of them. 🌱

Your mistaken on the free speech issue. We can say what we like as long as it's not 'inciting violence/racism' the queen/ king or celebrity/politicians are fair game and don't get a pass. Not where I live anyway.

Tom Scott did a video on why there are two different taps. It’s due to the fact that hot water is stored in a reservoir in the house before being heated and may not necessarily be clean, whereas cold water comes straight from the water mains. This is more of a concern in older houses, as new houses often heat the water straight from the mains now

Pasty is a pie version originated from the tin miners of Cornwall, it consisted of meat and vegetables and it was designed this way because it was held in dirty hands. But the food inside the pasty remained clean. Not all the pastry was consumed

Paid time off, sick pay, maternity, is full monthly pay not what you said, also working part time in the UK you still get over 20 days leave. I don't know where you looked up your data. If you are insulted in the UK you should know they like you. If I walk into a pub I am prepared to be insulted bu friends and even by the landlord.

Onion gravy isn't a regional speciality from Yorkshire, it's a whole of UK thing but most famously the essential accompaniment for bangers and mash, you need to colour the onions a little more before adding the stock though. You also need to preheat the tray and fat for Yorkshire puddings, the fat in the tray should be so hot it's smoking so when you add the batter it sizzles and spits, but the main thing is you still got a great rise though! I only season roast potatoes with salt and pepper and cook them in duck fat which makes them really golden and crispy and there's no need for flour, in fact the only real important thing with roast spuds is drying them out between par-boiling and roasting, fastest way is to leave them out in the garden for 10 mins and the colder it is the dryer they get. Good effort all in all, but you had no veg on the plate, we'd always have loads of veg, like 4-5 different items, my Mum would always serve it as third meat, third potatoes (mashed or boiled as well as roast), third veg, always peas and carrots, then anything seasonal like green beans, runner beans, broad beans, broccoli, cauliflower, parsnip etc. One thing I always love which is a little more old fashioned as my mum and gran both did it, was finely chop carrots and swede and mush them together with butter and white pepper, so delicious! I've had Yorkshire pudding as dessert in Lancashire with honey drizzled on it, it's basically made from the same batter as you'd use for doughnuts or crepes anyway.

One more thing about roast potatoes, you have to boil then in a saucepan because another key stage is bashing them around in the pan after you've drained them, this fluffs up all the outside and some will break open and it just gets them all ragged and gnarly looking, which makes them get much crispier when roasting, tossing them in a colander isn't enough, has to be in a saucepan, just be careful not to over-boil them as they'll turn to mash when bashing them!

Strongbow is not the finest cider in the UK, or even what you could call fine cider. Some would question whether it's real cider at all (in the same vein as 'real ales').

"Church of England suburbanites"! Aww, cute! In 2022 the Church of England worshipping community was 1.5% of the population and falling. 200 churches per year are closing permanently. There's going to be some lovely old buildings available to buy at bargain prices.

Taps & piped water supply was available from 18th/19th century onwards & consisted of cold drinking water - domestic water heaters came 19th/20th century- so old houses have seperate taps and domestic boilers added hot water - houses built after WW2 used mixer taps

USA: OK, come in, sit down, welcome to the cult, here's your flag, worship it every morning. If you have a globe, any maps or any other dangerous knowledge, please leave it outside. Remember, fresh fruit should last a month before it needs to go in the garbage disposal. There is no public transport and walking beyond the end of your driveway is illegal so this liquid we call gas is a human right. Consequently, it is cheaper than milk. Oh, you can't stomach milk? Then we will provide you with 50 alternatives, one for each God blessed, great state. You don't have a car? Oh dear. Just pick one up from a salvage yard, it'll be fine. Here's a bulletproof school bag, one for each child. And, of course, your Bible, you're welcome. Have a nice day.
