This is true for Pikmin 3 (Wii U), and if you play on Pikmin 3 Deluxe's Hard mode. However, in Pikmin 3 Deluxe's Normal mode, all enemies (including bosses) health is cut in half, and this applies to all Mission Mode as well. So in 3DX, the health cap is at 1/2 health, not 1/4.

Thanks! The only real mistakes in this run were missing a couple throws on Sassy Squatch, and the one hit I took in Hull 1. All together, less than 10 seconds of mistakes. The rest of the run being so good, plus not really having much competition in this game, is why I haven't really come back to running this game in a while. Maybe some day! I do still love this game, I just haven't felt like coming back to the grind lately.

That is what's known as Speedgrinding. To do it, you alternate between L and R every frame. If you do it right, the game considers you as being in the first frame of your jump constantly. This lets you climb faster than normal.

Well, there aren't really any cutscenes in the run. Also, if you have any data, however far you got is where you start the next time you play. For example, if I've already finished a run and got rank 11 on every world, I'd be starting each game already on level 10 if i continued to use that file, so starting from a fresh file is the only logical way to do runs.

It's good, but has some big issues with the controls I kinda hate. If the control issues were fixes, I wouldn't have any complaints!

Thanks! I really appreciate it! 1. If you look at my timer during the Debt Repayment cutscene, it actually keeps going throughout the whole end cutscene, so if I paid off the debt from a cave, it takes 4 minutes, just as it did here when also collecting Pink Menace. Either way would add 4 minutes, and your method would not collect Pink Menace in the process. 2. Getting Pink Menace in 0m was something I considered. Even though you can throw pikmin onto that ledge and C-stick them into it to dig it up (as you do in real-time speedruns of the game), you can't get enough up there to dig it out quickly enough to get it in 0m. 3. After debt repayment, (if you look at 20:20 in my video here), you'll see I gain control of Olimar at 50 seconds. That only gives you 5 seconds to call a pikmin out of the onion and get to Citadel of Spiders, which is not quite enough time. You are correct that there's a theoretical method to save that minute, that involves overflowing the day counter, and entering Perplexing Pool on day 2, where there's a test cave in the landing site, but that would take literal thousands of years of ending days over and over to do! 4. Spiny Alien Treat is also just barely not possible in 0m. There's an untested idea to get Temporal Mechanism and Spiny Alien Treat together in 1m, but even if it does turn out to be possible, it'd be so difficult, I had enough trouble as it is just getting Temporal Mechanism alone in 1m. 5. I tried for a while to get a treasure in Submerged Castle 2 in 0m. There actually is a TAS now of getting the lighter treasure in 0m, but it's just barely possible, and I wasn't able to pull it off myself. The heavier treasure has not been confirmed possible even in a TAS setting. So yes, you're correct that I could've saved at least one minute there, but I couldn't manage to pull it off. That's probably my biggest regret of this run. Glad you enjoyed, and thanks for the suggestions!
