Congrats to WV for a hard fought game. I agree with both coaches that they should have been seeded much higher. At least 4. Great job coming together this year WV. I'm an Iowa fan so we may well see you again!

He's right about the transfer portal opening up right as March Madness begins. That's nuts. Should wait until the season is over for everyone! And Kellogg was also right about their seed. They were 12-6 tied for 4th in the Big 12 and 25-8 overall and got an 8 seed?? Should have been a 6. Same for Iowa State!

I am an Iowa fan. I was impressed with WV effort last night, particularly defense. WV took us out of our game, and nearly beat us. Great game.

West Virginia Ref Kevin Pethtel was the best person in the Court for Iowa. He called anything and everything on WVU and only a few calls on Iowa. Iowa was at the FT Line 30 Times to WVUs 5 Times. This is Stat that says alot about Pethtel because he was the one always blowing the Whistle. WVU Women were 100 percent the Better Team. Just Sad that a Ref can take that Win from you.

@@rybanic1 Iowa 30 attempts at the Charity Stripe. WVU 5. And don't tell me Iowa didn't get away with fouling. I watched the Game. Refs were horrible. It's not just me saying that.

1. WVU presses full court for most of the game and has a much more aggressive and physical D than Iowa does. So they're much more likely to get steals AND commit fouls with the press, both of which happened. 2. Iowa mostly played zone defense, which leads to less fouling on average (and it's what some teams do when they're trying to protect someone in foul trouble) than playing man does. 3. Iowa was more aggressive on offense in terms of drives and post-ups, whereas WVU shot way more 3s than Iowa (12 more) and only had 1 non 3-pt FG attempt from WVU forwards the entire game, vs 7 for Iowa. 4. WVU committed 4-5 fouls on purpose when they were down with just over 1 minute left to extend the game. 5. Iowa averages 14 fouls/game this year, so their 11 fouls vs WVU isn't far off - you can chalk that up to a couple of missed calls in this game if you'd like. Iowa's opponents this year average 19 fouls/game, because Iowa is aggressive on offense as stated above; they're the #1 scoring team for a reason, and it isn't just from shooting 3s. And WVU's 27 fouls isn't actually far off from 19, after considering that 4-5 of them were on purpose towards the end. So that means 22-23 actual fouls, which also makes sense due to their aggressive D and press.

@@plainsman I watched the Game. Everytime Iowa drove to the Basket Kevin Pethtel who is from WV called a Foul. So it was an And One. He refused to blow the Whistle on Iowa fouling WVU. Not sure what Game you were watching. WVU was the Better Team last Night. And the Refs cost them the Game.

@@plainsman Excellent analysis. WV prides themselves on defense, but it's a very AGGRESSIVE style of defense. I was a top defensive player in HS that always got the "1" assignment in a Box & 1 defense. I played you very tight, but with finesse - denying the ball and stealing dribbles and passes. You don't have to mug people to play tough defense. The WV fouls were deserved.

DON'T BITCH BOUT THE FOUL CALLS!!! When ya play like it's a street ball game then ya leave the refs in a position to make calls. Iowa didn't need to foul cause it seemed like nearly all WV shots were three's n mid range jumpers there was no need to foul, while Iowa kept trying to drive on every possible possession. If ya goin to play like it's in the Bronx then DON'T complain on how the game is called.

That was impressive holding the top rank offense in the country below 70 points. They forced Iowa into uncharacteristic bad throws, poor decisions, and out of sync offensively which forced them to play better defense to escape with a win.

Hard to win a game when its 8 vs 5... refs hosed us. Cant complete at a high level if all your best players foul out. WVU played tough and Kellogg's style was working. Just need to hit those give-me layups. Way to fight to the end ladies.

STOP!!! Ya can't play like you're in the Bronx n not expect to have tons of fouls the last game WV had over twenty fouls too. Ya play physically n leave the calls to the refs if that's your strategy then DON'T BITCH cause fouls get callled. WV mainly shot mid range or three's in this game n that's why WV didn't get foul calls their way. Seems like Iowa drove to the lane every possible possession n kept getting hacked or knocked down.

More money if Iowa moves in than WVU. It's Crooked just like every other Sport. But in an honest Game WVU would easily have Won. There's no way Iowa is good enough to Win it all.

How do you beat Kansas and lose to Texas by 36 points the coaches are obviously not doing a good enough job. The players are lazy they play no defense there’s no desire to win.
