it's been kind of wild seeing 3D animation come far enough that it can start doing all the stuff 2d is good at. klaus felt like it really kicked it off, but seeing actually nice, stylistic animation that doesn't look like play-doh paired w the camera work 3d enabled is just wonderful. at the end of the day i really do think it proves 2d is the better medium for animation in most cases, because we went from 3d hype to essentially just working out way to a more advanced form of doing it the right way again. a shame we went through decades of gross and unsettling looking stuff to get here, but at least we got here eventually
