I love my RD 50. I only use the clean channel and push the front end with pedals which it takes like a champ. Throw an EV speaker in there and there it is!!!

I have one of these -great amp, however, I found the treble too harsh. I changed the treble capacitor from 3,000 micro to 1,000 micro, and then the normal/bright switch from 3,000 to 1,000 - it now really sings with my Telecaster! I lent it to a fellow guitar player and he loved the tone.

I use the Mic Mechanic 2, it really does make things easier , looking at getting the Harmony Singer but not cheap here in Australia

A matter of taste, but I never liked the pronounced mid-frequency it tastes like boxed.Sontronics Solo has a warm, full-bodied sound, very close to the sound of a tube mic.

Ok, amps are always a matter of taste. But for me the 112 RD 50 still is one of the greatest sounding small combo amps at least for any clean sound. Highly appreciated by country music guys for Telecaster and steel guitar. The solid state preamp has always been subject of discussion. But I really like the distortion it provides and have even sold some boutique amps while keeping the Music Man. I am using it as a clean amp with a good set of pedals and the chance to switch to the limiter channel for a different sound perspective. It is definitely one of the most underrated and thus cheap vintage amps one can buy these days. And with respect to size and weight it can be extremely loud making it a good companion for any gig.

Am I missing something? Sound cold like a solid state amp to me? Not a fan.
