Not watched the whole video but with these models its usually the stator/ rectifier. These usually kill the bike when its gets hot. It will probably happen again as they burn out. Needs replacement with an aftermarket one

Is the oil light on when turns itself off?
@Js-Garage3 күн бұрын
Yes the Engine Oil light comes on. Oil level is fine.
@Plvs_Vltra.3 күн бұрын
@@Js-Garage I had a similar problem with a Honda rebel, happened once before the first change of oil and a few months after that. Did lots of checks on the wirings the first time it happened but couldn’t find anything. I’m starting to suspect that because of the oil light comes on before that happening it could be related to a problem with the lubrication. What do you think?
@Js-Garage2 күн бұрын
For as long as I can remember, my bikes oil light has always come one when I turn off with kill switch. I re watched the footage closely and the light only comes on after the engine dies. I am going to chat to Triumph Service Department to see if this is normal. What ever happened to your Honda?
@EnergyXyz2 күн бұрын
It's quite normal the oil lamp lights up when the kill switch is activated. It just going to "key on - mode" and show that the lamp is working.

What is the cause of engine failure
@Js-Garage4 күн бұрын
I think it was a connection fault on one of the harness plugs. Once I pressed all the plugs together under the tank and fitted everything the bike hasn't done it again. Its very strange and I cannot be 100% certain but I am leaning towards a loose connection.

My rear wheel is getting stuck, worse on warm days, is that likely air trapped, its an abs so would this be the same method.
@Js-GarageАй бұрын
Hello, Air in the brake system causes a more spongy brake(softer lever pull) Could be a wheel bearing on the way out? Could also be your ABS system(Faulty wheel speed sensor, or possibly the pump) Does this happen at random, or is it while braking?
@leejames1792Ай бұрын
@@Js-Garage thx for replying, it seems fine when the weather is cooler but if the bike is sitting in the sun for a bit, i then struggle to push the bike at all, disc and calliper get very hot after going a mile or two. I thought maybe air in the lines expanding because of heat might be the reason? Don't understand why it only happens when the bike is sat the sun. The fluid in the reservoir is right on the full level line, could that be an issue, maybe too much in there?
@Js-GarageАй бұрын
With what you are saying above, it sounds to me like the pistons in the brake caliper are sticking. Or the caliper isn't floating freely. I would try taking the caliper off and giving it a proper blow out with air and then also use a brake and part cleaner. Just give it a thorough cleaning. Worth a try and wont cost much. Let me know.
@leejames1792Ай бұрын

Love to learn a little bit more about your bike. She’s a beauty. What year? How many miles? I’ve got a 2010 with 50,000 miles, bought it from the second owner at 47,000 and everything‘s been fine so far. Bad thing is I don’t know it’s history but I heard it was owned by triumph mechanic. Just wondering if you had the manual Timing chain tensioner? Have you had any adjustments using it? Thank you, sir
@Js-Garage2 ай бұрын
Hello and thank you. She is definitely coming along! 2010 year Mileage is 43000km(26000 miles) Mine is also the manual timing tensioner, havent needed to adjust. One thing, at around 40000-45000 km(24000-27000) the 675 needs valve clearance checks. I need to do mine. I am lucky as mine is riding loose and not tight. You can hear the slight tick. How does yours sound?
@rivermistcabindotcom48052 ай бұрын
@@Js-Garage thanks for the reply. I’m assuming the valves have been at least checked once. I’m not hearing any ticks or any rattles from the Timing chain either and she’s got plenty of power so I’m leaving well enough alone for right now.
@rivermistcabindotcom48052 ай бұрын
@@Js-Garage I was just curious if there was a standard operating procedure for the manual tensioner without opening up the valve covers to check the tightness of the timing chain

Nice welding job! Looks so much better. a bit too loud for my taste. I think I would go for a E-approved system like HP Corse short exhaust. Do you know how much weight you have saved with this new exhaust?
@Js-Garage3 ай бұрын
Thank you for the feedback. Its actually not that loud, maybe the microphones are amplifying. I did do a weighup, it is coming in the next video with the tune at Triumph. The bought systems are always nice to go with but being a project bike I thought a custom exhaust system would be a better fit.
