If you aren’t aware, this is a photo of Albert Camus which is animated. Very cool, if somewhat unsettling. Watching the mouth as he speaks gave me that creepy ’uncanny valley’ feeling. Love the quote and the concept.❤
Never enjoyed alarm clocks. I broke so many l stopped using them. I get up when I get up. I take my frgn time. I'm late and don't care who it pissed off.

I get up at 6 , cut hedges prune trees , cut grass , get payed enough for doing it . Get many comments on how nice the sites I do look. It makes a lot of older people's day a little better . That's enough . My point here is simply that if you do a good job at what ever you do , and it makes other people's live a little better , it's worth doing. People need to stop looking at the money side so much.

Oh, he's talking about us American sheep. Why do we do it? Because we are all masochists who enjoy screaming that no one can hurt us! We like the lie, and the little pat on the head from rich people when they actually pay us.

Everybody needs to be part of 'the struggle ', it's necessary for good mental health. But he did give me a good reason to work for our local authorities. Nobody is getting rich there....

There was a category of people who thought this way, and they wrote the books. Most people understand that a grown man has to provide for himself somehow. Thoreau wrote about getting out of the rat race and being independent - and he dropped off his laundry with a local woman. And when men were crossing the continent to make new lives, he lived in a town just outside Boston, where he could keep close to the literary set. They're all frauds.

I'm surprised they used a rendition that looked so old. A mentality like this would never survive that long without a self-inflicted send off.
@rmdlgarcia8 ай бұрын
I loved my job. It is what happen when you look for the stuff you like instead of trying to avoid being independent by avoiding learning stuff you need and taking art and gender studies to avoid work. If you want to avoid the 'rat race' be an entrepreneur and be your own boss and decide which 18 hours a day you will work.

I wake up at 5 every morning no alarm clock needed. Just don't stay up late or drink. It's easy. Then I go to work and get to see the most beautiful girls in the world. Sure I don't make much but I don't work very hard either. 😂

I enjoy Bukowski and this perspective is thought provoking. Don't take it so personnal, it's an observation on society as a whole. Bukowski worked 80 percent or more in utter shit jobs. That said I thrive on waking up early best time to write and study. Working provides the structure for me to do so...

He is full of doo. I get up at 0330, SSS, and go to work where i make money for my betterment. Save said money instead of blowing it on BS so I can live a better life. It's all in how you look at it and making sound decisions while exercising discipline.

Do you enjoy your job ?
@DrDavid-im7gp7 ай бұрын
@boeingdriver29 enjoying or not enjoying the job is irrelevant. What is relavent is knowing that you will not thrive if you are unhappy. So you work towards finding ways to be happy at your job until you do find a way to be happy with what you do for a living. It's all about choices and making things happen that is necessary.
@boeingdriver297 ай бұрын
@@DrDavid-im7gp are you aware a worldwide gallop poll concluded that 85% of the global workforce are unhappy with their employment ? Your message is to save money and don’t blow it on bs, are you not aware that 61% of Americans (2023) live paycheque to paycheque? They don’t have sufficient funds to blow it on stuff they may desire but can’t afford, they just survive. What a wonderful system it is that you apparently support. You get up at 0330 to go to work, would you like a medal ? I spent my life flying long haul RPT operations for a major airline, I had to deal with 15 hour duty periods, back of the clock operations crossing multiple time zones accumulating jet lag and living on coffee to remain alert. On average I spent 120 nites in my own bed annually. Don’t look for sympathy or respect from me. People are simply pawns in a game desired keep salaries suppressed whilst sending all the profits to senior management and share holders if it’s publicly listed. I’ll presume your a yank, are you not aware of your insurmountable National debt. The U.S. is a financial basket case and if we see the destruction of the Petrodollar in the near future brought about by the BRICKS+ the US will be insolvent and the credit card party will be over. Good luck with that. Oh and I have also had a masters in Geopolitical Science since 1989. You say your a doctor, a doctor of what ?
