Excellent stuff Marq. Have you sampled any Long Man beer? Their Long Blonde and American IPA are superb. Also, there's a book by Rodney Casteleden named "The Wilmington Giant" which is a fascinating book and proposes theories as to his origin. Sadly, the Long Man is no longer cut into the chalk these days, rather delineated by white kerbstones, but he is still impressive from a distance. Looking forward to your next video already.

I did enjoy that video- love seeing the ancient yew! So good to see that the locals are looking after it! The roof beams in the church looked new replacing the burnt ones presumably! The church needed fresh flowers! Just had the one stand with a few worse for wear flowers. It would have made all the difference! Nice to come out & have the view of The Long Man! Ps Sorry about your bad accommodation! - did you complain?

Gorgeous seascape! Yeah, who needs Florida! That view of the cottages is somewhat iconic, just as you said. One day I'll get there myself! Love the accommodation! A shared bathroom is nothing. I lived in a bedsit for over 9 years sharing the bathroom but to have such a place to stay, even with a shared bathroom, is still a great opportunity. yes, that landscape is stunning. Once it infiltrates your heart you never forget it!

The home hills effect! Which is why I have a deep affection for the South Downs myself being born in Brighton. The main difference is the South Downs are much barer particularly in the east whilst the North Downs are much more wooded. Last time I went past the cottages they had the gardens open so it was great to have a nose around. I kept wondering if you wouid go right down to the beach and see the old cable hut on the east side of the cottages. Hope you took your head torch for night time visits to the toilet block!!

John Harvard married Ann Sadler in 1636 in this church. John is the person whose personal fortune was given to launch Harvard College in Colony Bay (today's part of Harvard University in Cambridge), after he passed away due to compression (tuberculosis) in 1638. He gave away half of his fortune (780GBP + ~300 books).

Hi Marq. A great looking village and what a fabulous church. Lots of history. Beautiful stained glass. Always love these older examples. I agree it does seem to be missing paintings or frescos. Maybe whitewashed over for protection as I have found in some churches. An enjoyable watch mate. I do like the short sharp format. However a video is as long as it needs to be 🤷🏻‍♂️. Top job. Keep well. Have a good week. 👍🏻🚶🏻‍♂️🚶‍♀️

I wonder if anyone csn answer this question. One church I worked at, had a small door that was called the devils door. I believe it was opened prior to a service, to let the devil out. I can only remember seeing that at this church. Do other churches have similar? From memory: i think it was called Folkington PC. A small hamlet near Eastbourne.

In the tower of the church, the tenor bell was recast (along with the other 5) in 1921 and has a war memorial on it, with the names of the ringers who died in the Great War.
