Some great flying, I've been looking through your videos, just came across them by chance. I haven't lived in Newcastle for about 35 yrs and only recently went back to visit family, took my drone of course, I couldn't believe the changes. And looking at your videos of various places brought back a lot of memories. Especially Benwell, West Rd, Blaydon and Ashington (I also lived there for 15yrs). I need to get back more often as I only live in Cumbria. Thanks for showing them.

Brits seem very fond of their regimented rows of Victorian terraces and I confess there is something pleasing about their consistency. I saw a clip of a place were they stretched to the horizon and looked impressive in the sun. I have no idea what they are like to live in though

Most were built as homes for workers, so it depends who built them. If you look closely at some of the houses you'll see differences. Often the end house of a terrace was originally made slightly bigger so that it could be used as a pay office etc. Some times it's a "corner shop" or Foremans home

Its really weird watching this. Used to work in the west end police station from 2000 to 2002, so weird to see it pretty much abandoned apart from the enclosed car park is still in use for a number of cars for some reason. The building next to it was in use as far as i can renember 20+ years ago but now looks like a ghost town. Would love to know what that building was?

The large building next to it was a nursing home were employees of the General Hospital used to lodge. It was then used for Asylum Seekers years ago, and now has fallen into disrepair.

@dennisthedrone1550 ah that rings a bell now, about it being used as lodgings for nurses at the general, that's what I remember being told back in 2000. Still I'm genuinely surprised at the level of vegetation growth and disrepair of the place, seems much worse than what 20 years worth would be. Thank you for the reply and apologies I haven't replied until now. Good luck with this channel its enjoyable seeing the various North east locations through the eyes of Dennis 😆, thank you for the work you put in to make the videos.

Absolute disgrace that the old nursing home and police station have been allowed to stand derelict and unused for so long, there's also the nearby former bowling alley as well as the old general hospital site. Surely an opportunity for a revitalisation of the area
