le bruit de votre moteur est une torture pour cette pauvre bete
@norwayfishing2 ай бұрын
Any documentation of your claim? Maybe those beats must be sick then since they come up close to the boat? So far I believe the only sound torture is coming from your mouth...
@janetrains832 ай бұрын
@@norwayfishing Actually there is evidence that sounds underwater are magnified, don't take things so personally, people want to know and learn. Turning your motor off could have revealed even more interesting encounters!
@norwayfishing2 ай бұрын
Thank you for your kind reply. I totally agree with you, any person should thrive to know and learn. I guess that is why we both know it is a fact that sound mostly travels better through water than air. But the claim is that the sound of the engine is torture for these beasts... I ask then for documentation of this claim. as it seems unfounded, and you and I cannot accept unfounded claims, as this is opposite to our eagerness to know and learn. There is also a challenge turning off the engine, as that would stop the charging of the batteries and make the boat dead in the water after just a few minutes, due to the amount of electricity such vessel uses.
@janetrains832 ай бұрын
@@norwayfishing A long time ago I worked with dolphins. We conducted research recording vocalizations underwater. Unfortunately, we discovered the sound of the motors (filtration,) drowned out the sounds of the dolphins vocalizing. There is ample evidence that human activity, boats, ships, etc, does impact marine life. As intelligent human beings, we can learn how to help the marine life we love through careful observations and understanding of our impacts. You are lucky to be on the ocean every day and see these magnificent animals, so much can be learned from them, the fact they come so close to you is telling you something, what an honor.
@norwayfishing2 ай бұрын
Yes, you are totally right about the human impact, not only on marine life, but on all life on this planet. As any other kind of beast, man also has it's place in the fauna and flora of this globe. As a species with excellent intellect, Man should thrive to use it to protect this, our only home! Often a lot of these white-beaked dolphins goofing around the fishing vessels come April. They feast on capelin and seem to enjoy playing around the small fishing vessels... Might be hundreds of them at the time, very playful lads! 😄

Got to see a couple of blues during mating season on a different trip in southern California, but we were never closer than 80-90m. Mye torsk går fersk til Europa. Men mye saltes også og selges som klippfisk. På mottakene her i området blir ingenting fryst.

This kind of fishing is done by smaller boats, with mostly one person. If you are EU-citizen, you have the same right to start fishing in Norway as a Norwegian. The easiest thing then is to buy a small boat and start fishing, after applying. You can get a decent starting boat for €30 000 with some equipment. The boat I own, a larger one at 35 feet, is approx. €150 000.

Yes, that is correct! The Russians put out Kamchatka king crab in their part of the cold Barents Sea. This was done in the 50'ties and 60'ties I believe. Apart from a lone visitor now and then, the crab did not spread to Norwegian waters until the 90'ties. It really is a huge and healthy biomass in this area, but still nothing compared to the Bering Sea. In the Norwegian quota area only boats under 40 feet are allowed to join. Outside the quota area it is free fishing for all, as Norway believes this to be an alien species and wants to keep biomass from spreading further.
