I was honestly thinking of retiring myself from the journalism game, just like Daniel Day Lewis. After awards, of course, always after the accolades are in hand. I’ll retire myself, just in the name of celebration of Daniel Day Lewis, celebration of limits of power in certain spaces. This is promise and here to now, an update on LinkedIn come July, announcing my retirement from citizenry journalism. Retire, I shall. I see nothing but retirement, on this side of that moment. I really hope the womb of retirement can give me such needed warmth of rest, like the Phoenix shall I hope for many periods of both certainty, uncertainty and a resting sort of flight. 🎉

Every actor in the world, who thinks he’s worth his salt, should study this man’s work, and his methods. Daniel Day Lewis doesn’t act. He becomes his character. Mind, voice & physicality. It’s really quite something to behold. He really is in a realm of his own.

Why for Christy Brown did you not include an accent? FYI, it's a Dublin accent.

Watching Age of Innocence and In The Name of the Father back to back is wild because those are just 2 completely different people. Like how's that the same guy?

I grew up in a working class family in Belfast. His accent in “The name of the Father” is pure Belfast.

A lot of these appear as though he did a voice over. The audio was too clear and too loud for some of these scenes.

sorry m8 but there is no "working class" accent in London ! Bloody Americans without education...makes me sick really! And he just doestn have to learn any bloody English or Irish accent - he grew up there mate ...manly in the West country, but anyway 😋

His Scots accent isn't that good. If you want to hear a non-Scot do a great Scots accent, watch Paul Mescal in 'Aftersun'. It's 100%.

Best actor of this century, Always turns in a completely different person and makes it look natural. Only the Italian accent was bit off.

Not once I've seen a movie featuring Day-Lewis and thought "that's Daniel Day-Lewis". He never is playing the character, he is the character.

Christy Brown, Bill The Butcher and Daniel Plainview are without doubt 3 of the best acting performances I've ever seen. Within 5 minutes of my left foot you completely forget that that he doesnt actually have cerebral palsy.

In "There Will be Blood", his accent isn't one from Wisconsin or California. It's definitely a more natural/gruff representation of the transatlantic.

I shouldn’t even justify or dignify this with a response, but I’m honestly trying to figure out if you’re disrespectful, ignorant, oblivious, unintelligent, purposely trying to be controversial for attention and validation, or (most likely) a mixture of all of the above. The one thing that is definitively clear and glaringly obvious is that you know absolutely nothing about the craft of acting and probably don’t care to educate yourself about it one bit.
