Is it acceptable to speed up a bit during the exam when changing lanes? Do you have to follow 100km/h strictly on the highway or can you do 110km/h during the exam? Thanks!

No, just follow the speed sign

Gotta be honest, the construction of this left turn spot is horrible. But yeah, right side of left turn lane and stop at the damn line.
@philiplarocque3537Ай бұрын
Safe would be to completely stop at the line... Look ahead and go...
@henkgootjes4306Ай бұрын
Stopping at the line does not significantly improve your ability to look past vehicles in the oncoming left turn lane and see an opportunity. You are also far less able to take advantage of any opening in traffic that there might be, as you are starting further back. Finally, if you're in the intersection when the light turns orange, you may proceed through. If you are stopped at the line, you are legally obligated to stay there, and wait for the next cycle. I see a lot of people waiting, as you suggest. But it's extremely inefficient, and no safer, especially in intersections with fairly light traffic, as in the example video. In the crowded inner city, yeah, it might be better. Any other time, just go ahead and enter the intersection.

Good job for rolling ahead and not stopping at the white line to make the left turn 👏
@henkgootjes4306Ай бұрын
As is very obvious, the perspective car cannot complete their turn because they have no oversight of oncoming traffic. The oncoming car trying to make its own left turn has the same issue. This is because they both did not set up properly. How to correctly do it is what was taught to me as the flat-s approach, and it's for use in an intersection with a concrete median. Start from the right side of the left turn lane. As one gets about a couple of car lengths from the intersection, start to gently turn left. As one enters the intersection, straighten out again, so the vehicle ends up straight again. The goal is to end up with the left hand side of the vehicle being about in line halfway to the concrete curb now behind them. This gives the vehicle great oversight of oncoming traffic, allows oncoming left turners better overview too, while not impeding traffic going straight.

Another way is to start like you said, start from the right most side of the left turn lane and then angle your front end toward the left so you sit semi-crooked in the lane. Some states angle their turn lanes like this at intersections. Of course I live out in the western states where the roads are wider and easier to see so maybe that’s why it works.
@henkgootjes4306Ай бұрын
@@L0VTX_H8CA The problem with that is if some idiot behind you hits you, you get pushed into oncoming traffic. That's why it's important to straighten out again.

Hi sir, I have seen many people saying during their G test in oakville, they go on a residential street and tell them to make a U-turn. How do we make a U turn on a residential street? I thought you usually do 3 point turn. Please let me know. Thanks
