This is a 6 string bass guitar modified to have a low F#, for normal 6 string bass guitars the tuning goes B E A D G C, this one is F# B E A D G instead.

Yesterday, when I shielded and grounded my Squier Strat, I was thinking about your video because I saw it a few months ago, and wondering whether or not this was really necessary in order to ground the strings. So, I took a multimeter and checked for continuity from the bridge to the tremolo claw. Sure enough, there was continuity; in other words, the springs do conduct current, and do ground the strings. Today, playing the Strat again, it was not necessary to put my fingers on the strings to eliminate the noise: the strings are grounded via the tremolo springs. So, I appreciate that maybe the springs on your guitar are not conductive for some reason, but I would check that with a multimeter to make sure.

The bridge on Les Paul style guitars is always angled. It might sit a bit too far back though. An easy fix is to turn the saddles around so you'd get a little more room for adjustment. Another fix is to use thicker strings. Could try something like "light top heavy bottom" sets.

You'll get a more realistic tone from using a single pickup (neck or middle). The sound of two pickups together is too obviously electric.

First you have the pedal on top of your amp and plugged into ac power. The interaction of electromagnetic fields is creating the hum and I am guessing your cables aren’t shielded. I am also not sure why you expect a clean tone when the gain knob is set to 9 o’clock on an amp that isn’t going to add dirt but it’s a pedal not an amp and the gain is much more sensitive. I would also look at where the switches on the pedal are set including mic placement. The Brit setting is a preset higher gain than the tweed and the California is a bit higher than the Brit. Overall not enough detail is given about the signal path, pedal setting, ac adapter or cables to point fingers at any one culprit.
