When using the hand priming tool, don’t point it towards your face because if one of those primers were to go off, you’re looking right at it

I agree, I've only had it happen once since I started reloading. I don't use this priming tool anymore, I went back to priming on the press again.

I'd look at mine if I hadn't sold it, I can't remember how it went together. There may be a burr that you need to gently file off to get it apart.

@@FatManLeather I'm working on a knife sheath for dangler style with leg strap, but also want to incorporate a detachable loop system for scout carry, I was thinking eyelet rivets then using Chicago screws to attach loops when desired, have you used it know of eyelets that will go through the equivalent of two layer of 11oz or 1/4" thick ? Maybe a naked hole cjeaned up nice and sealed ? Options ? concerns ? Thank ya

@@mckwilly I haven't come across eyelets that would work that thick. Chicago screws through the leather should be fine, that's how I usually do that type of thing, haven't had a problem with one yet. Can't wait to see it.

Just brown on this one, it's what the customer ordered. I don't do much multi color stuff, when I do it's on a floral carved piece. I don't do much antiquing unless I think it'll be the right look.

All of this came from a collector and is reproduction. I will not destroy anything that is an original piece. The holster with the frayed binding at the toe is the only original and will be repaired. Don't jump to conclusions, watch some of my other restoration videos of the WW1and WW2 holsters.

I found it interesting exposing leather to acetone to try strip out its dye and create a rougher finish on it , It could take leather from a very dark brown to a lighter red like color which i did to make the leather better suited for laser engraving experiments on it 🙂 , was leather from scrap furniture i believe.

Acetone is my last resort, I usually deglaze just to remove the topcoat.

@@steve64464 saddlelac is a spray product but not very flexible. Acrylic Resolene can be wiped on or sprayed on with an airbrush and can be thinned with water. Tankote is what I use most, wipe on and let it dry. Resolene and Tankote have some flexibility.

I normally don't disagree with anything you do, but I'm afraid I will disagree with using a stitch groover. It weakens the leather and makes it susceptible to getting the belt wet inside which in turn makes it susceptible to other problems. If getting the thread below the surface is the issue, why not use a creaser which will give you a depression into which you can sew and get the thread below the surface without creating other issues. Also, recently Crimson Hides has "invented" a 2-prong instrument that will scribe a light line onto which you are able to straddle with your stitching iron and if you work carefully you are able to sink the thread below the surface by how you tighten each stitch. Nigel Armitage has a video showing how to use the tool. I highly recommend you take a look at his review. There are 7 sizes costing c. $29 US (40 lbs English) each. Although I cannot afford all of them at once, I do plan on getting all of them over time. They work with any stitching/pricking iron. Also, I don't know if you do Ranger belts, but if you do Don Gonzalez sells some acrylic Ranger templates for around $20. He also has a video showing how to make a Ranger belt, including how to measure for one (I'm sure you're aware it's different than a regular belt). I started watching you years ago and still enjoy doing so. I've learned quite a bit from watching you. And I will continue watching you for as long as you create the videos, which I hope will be for a long time to come.

I couldn't say, I'd try isopropyl alcohol first since it's fairly mild, someplace unseen. If that doesn't work, I'd try nail polish remover (mild acetone), then acetone as a last resort.

I use Bick 4 when the leather is pretty dry, it adds moisture faster. Apply it according to the directions and re-apply in a few days usually does the trick.

Garbage weapon. Had one it sucked so bad. Wouldn't buy one it was a wedding present. Good as a backup weapon at point blank range as last resort. Dont trust ejector. Good as an impact weapon thats about it
