Great video Jack. Apologies if it's already been pointed out, but a fast way to inherit the accurate coordinates for the spherical field onto your geometry sphere, is simply to nest it under the SF and zero out the xyz coordinates.

Great tutorial. My tip is a little obscure but if you are iterating over multiple arrays do it explicitly rather than letting the nodes work it out for themselves. The reason being that you can find the nodes suddenly give up and cannot work out what they are supposed to be iterating over and you get an an error message and nothing works.

Thanks for the video, and definitely more scene nodes! Also besides versatility of the technique itself would you say this method also increases performance? Or is it basically the same as the standard (non nodal) workflow?

@JackKeDesign8 ай бұрын
cheers, sure thing: you need to use a shader effector, and create a custom map in ai or ps and link it. Then you can use that in redshift as color data and display it
@PalAnnna8 ай бұрын
@@JackKeDesign thanks for your answer) I tried this tutorial "How to project an image using Shader effector in Cinema 4D 2023 @MaxonVFX" and tried using a tag "fit to object" so now I see a black texture on my object) where could I have taken a wrong turn?)
@JackKeDesign8 ай бұрын
@@PalAnnna hmm, I think it could be because RS doesn't like this workflow for whatever reason. For Redshift, you need to use color user data in your node set up, and make sure it is set to mograph color. Also make sure the cloner is set to single, multi-instance will ruin the projection

One thing I forgot to mention - you can add another cloner set to object distribution with some small spheres - set IOR to 1 to replicate air bubbles, add a touch of random movement to make them look more believable.

Cool quick breakdown, i didnt quite understand for shot 002a how the null with the xpresso tag was changing the position of the null. But it was a very clever setup to quickly find your hero sphere/bee.
@JackKeDesign8 ай бұрын
thanks for your comment, I just rewatched that part and I was very unclear, apologies I was trying to get through it all in a reasonable amount of time. Take the clone and feed it into the data node, then use the data node to set the position of a null. The null is what we put into the target tag that is on the camera. Hope that helps, happy to clarify

Is it possible to render scene nodes with Octane?
@JackKeDesign8 ай бұрын
I have not actually tried it, have a go at dropping it into the material tag. If it doesn't work, you could bake/export it first into normal c4d and then texture it as normal I believe
@antonezhkov12193 ай бұрын
Hi. It seems like I found how solve this problem. When you chose Object group in Generator tab you need to select Render Instance instead of Multiinstanse.
