Here's a tip for Honest Hearts and Dead Money. In Honest Hearts you can store your loot in the duffel bags near the beginning where you start out and Dead Money you can store loot in the trash can near the entrance. They do not despawn and have changed the way I play them forever.

compliance regulator is good but a LAER just kills your enemy with crits instead of stuns. also try playing on jsawyer hardcore for a better challenge. also the fatman is balanced in hardcore because of the carry weight. cool video tho

these don't seem all that op to be honest with you they have some cons + its a class building game obviously weapons made for your class will be good

the game is pretty easy even on hardcore one trick is just using the m79 thumper with every spec towards reloading you can basically fire automatically its pretty crazy

the cz57 avenger has the highest dps with the gatling laser being second or third

Gun runners is my go to grinding spot. They dont count as a faction so there's no consequences for killing the guards.

The Poseidon Energy gun that can call in Archimedes can be bought for 1000 caps or pickpocketed off of a child in Freeside. Very balanced.

While obviously not the best, I gained a lot of appreciation for the regular plasma pistol in my recent playthroughs. It's pretty much always available straight from the start where you can buy it from Chet along with at least one of the mods for a surprisingly cheap price, plus energy cells are also quite plentiful, especially if you remember to recycle them every now and then. I don't remember the exact numbers, but you can easily make it dish out 30-50 damage per shot from level 1 (not to mention the crits), which is really good on its own AND allows you to easily deal with tankier enemies like giant radscorpions which you usually have to avoid in the beginning. Considering how it can be obtained immedietaly after leaving Doc Mitchell's house without any prior knowledge of the game, I honestly would say it deserves a honorable mention even if it loses to a lot of other guns in the long run.

From a lore standpoint I think House should've had more Securitrons for these combat tests. While there aren't actually that many active on the Strip or in the Lucky 38, I think that speaks to House's hubris - how he's so confident he can keep the Courier on his side with the right incentives. But as we can see with his ending at Hoover Dam, if the situation calls for it he can & will rapidly deploy Securitrons in overwhelming force, committing most if not all his troops to secure victory. They might be a smaller fighting force than the other major players but they never tire, never miss an order &, as seen whenever a Securitron initiates dialogue with you, they're freakishly fast. If post MK2 Mr. House for whatever reason wanted to enter open conflict & exterminate any of these factions, I think he's got a good chance of wearing them down with series of hit & run, Boulder City style shenanigans. I just think the ability to communicate orders instantaneously & adapt to changing battlefield conditions on the fly is too strong for the comparatively ragtag armies of the NCR & Legion, who'd be outmaneuvered & ambushed at every turn.

Yes the default plasma caster is objectively better than the smithy special Overall id say elijahs advanced Laer is the best energy weapon providing you have the laser commander perk and the means to repair it regularly it's perfectly balance with damage and rate of fire + high crit chance AND only uses one cell Per shot, very practical But on paper the holorifle might be better because the bug where it never breaks and has heigh damage and uses only one cell per shot

not much of a build but my favourite playstyle is low endurance, high agility and explosives. sneak up behind people, drop a few grenades and run like hell. expect every engagement to end with multiple broken limbs

Its easily the Holorifle. With the ability to make weapon repair kits at the bunker's vending machine (and regenerating vouchers), its essentially perfect. It does more damage than the Anti-Mat rifle with 100 EW skill.

Plasma Caster is best energy weapon in the whole game. It penetrates armor, oneshots with the Max Charge Ammo, and Smitty Special Is a good sidegrade/backup weapon for if you get overwhelmed. Gauss rifle is too slow and laser is too weak.

The real reason the compliance regulator is best is because the laser is blue.
