I was playing below average. I played very well the day before. Maybe I made myself tired and didn't have enough sleep to recover. This is the first match of the day, but it is important because it determines who goes DivA. I was struggling to open up long balls and rally.

when recieving backspin serves my flicks used to go to net quite often, what helped me is keeping my motion smaller and faster and focusing on my wrist rather than elbow rotation. elbow becomes more useful for longer or higher balls in my experience. edit: wtf are the serves of these people after camera is turned?? one is throwing the ball for 2cms the other throwing it with 70 degrees to himself. Can you call them out in a tournament like this? Can you ask to repeat the serve?
@ZakriaTT10 күн бұрын
Right, sometimes we lose confidence flicking strong low underspin serves. Regarding their serves, you can call them out, but not easy bringing it up. For me, it is not so much about the throw but hiding the contact point. When you call an umpire, they are not experts if serve is hidden since they stand on the side. They would have to stand in front of the table. I want to put the camera right down the middle to capture their serves, but the ball will be blocked most of the time.

@@ZakriaTT i think this is a growing issue in table tennis community and people need to be held accountable more even if it means having awkward situations in the game or seen as "unsportsmanlike" people need to realise they cant get away with this.

That Andrey guy was doing illegal toss about 95% of the time when serving from backhand. Not to mention attempts to stutter/interrupt gameplay every now and then. Very poor sportsmanship on his part. Ridiculous, where were referee's eyes...
@ZakriaTT15 күн бұрын
The umpire is just another player who volunteered to keep the scores. His bh serves would still be effective if thrown little higher, but his forehand serves are hidden by his non-playing arm. More hidden serves in the video below. I can't see their hook serves (I have told them before). kzfaq.info/get/bejne/pLeSoMR61au5aHk.htmlfeature=shared
@dbweb.creative14 күн бұрын
wooow that's so bad, essentially they deliberately practice cheating. Need proper umpires, otherwise this is ridiculous with all the cheaters. #feelsbadman Unbelievable... just throws the ball backwards and no one sees it until it's already flying at you, even not seeing the contact. This is a fault point in many ways. It's a shit-show, not a tournament at this point.

These old school players with their low toss backhand serves...
@dbweb.creative15 күн бұрын
It's not because they are "old school", it's because some people have poor morals and sportsmanship. Judging from the score - he won only because of his cheats.

The ball slipped off his rubbers. There might be moisture on the ball or on his rubber. The server is responsible, so I redid the serve. I couldn't clearly see a wet spot on the rubber where the ball was contacted, but on video, it is clear the ball slipped.

How often do you get lessons? I’m thinking about getting one every 2 weeks for 3 months. Do lessons help you improve a lot?
@ZakriaTTАй бұрын
I never had paid lessons. It will help if you can afford it, but I'm not sure how much it can help you in 6 lessons. You would still need to practice many hours in between lessons. I was very good at small court soccer after spending a lot of hours. I spent a lot of hours in the last 10 years with the spinny rubbers. How do you play currently?

@@ZakriaTTI play at around 1400 rating in the United States USATT. I only picked up table tennis about 7 months ago so I feel there is still lots of technical flaws in my game that I can easily change that a coach can tell me. My goal is to get to 1800 in the next 5 months, but I need to improve every part of my game vastly

what are you checking in the beginning with the ball and opponents racket? And can the opponent say dont touch my racket? 😅 I for example wouldnt want someone to scratch anything to my rubber lol
@ZakriaTTАй бұрын
I am checking the grippiness of the long pips at the top of pips and sides of the pips when rubbed a little harder. Sometimes, even inverted rubbers are very old and have gripless spots. The force of rubbing is not strong enough to break your pips. Some pips can be treated to reduce their friction. What is your reason you don't want others to rub a ball over your rubbers?
@yagzyalcntas553Ай бұрын
@@ZakriaTT firstly the less my opponents knows about my rubber the better, tho i dont use pips, secondly it can make the rubber get old faster if you keep rubbing things onto it? And even without the first 2 reasons I just dont like other people touching my racket like a kid doesnt wanna share his toys 😂 idk how to explain, i am no pro by any means but my racket is like a samurais katana if that makes sense.

@Zoazaaa On that morning, it was difficult reading the serves, as seen in the video 😅 Maybe I wasn't paying attention to where he was contacting on the racket. I slept 1.5 hours and suddenly decided to use my other racket with Butterfly Viscaria and Nittaku Fastarc G1 rubbers on both sides. I was using DHS PG5x blade and Hurricane 3 Neo rubber on the forehand and old T05 on the backhand for 2 weeks before this event. My teammate was hesitant to play Eugene, so I got the chance to play 😀
