Thanks so much, I've had the problem of not going wanting to go into park and 1st gear for months but I got under there and sure enough one had worked it's way almost all the way out and the other was about 1/4" to 1/5" out. Tightened them back down and it is shifting smooth as silk now. I know this video is years old but you saved me a huge garage bill on my expedition as I had already purchased the cable, so I hope you see this. Thanks so much once again.

You saved me my G!!!🙌🏾. A hour ago my 2000 F150 XL stop going into park and was always clunking when I shift. I drove back home thinking my transmission was going out. Found your video on KZfaq and and just like you said. One of my T30 screws fell out completely and the other one was half way unscrewed. 😬 Thanks 🙏🏾🙌🏾

I have this exact issue but when I check those two bolts in the back everything is tight for me but the gear shifter is loose. Also my adjustment doesn’t work when I spin the wheel for the prnd

I stumbled into this video when looking for how to adjust the linkage. Both of those screws were loose on mine, so this video saved me weeks of diagnostic frustration. Now that I have the looseness fixed, I need to adjust the linkage so it indicates the position better. Everything I have found shows a thumbwheel adjuster somewhere near the steering column (under the dash). I cannot find that anywhere, but at the transmission end, it looks like there is a way to adjust it there (hard to describe the mechanism though) Anyone know how to adjust it if there isn't a thumbwheel under the dash?

You sir are a life saver! I was dealing with putting it in neutral and using the parking brake but my parking brake started giving me trouble. I just accepted a job across town that starts next week and I wasn't sure I would have a reliable mode of transportation. For me the top screw was actually all the way out and it was actually under the driver's side rug. I tightened up the bottom screw and put the top one back in and now my truck is shifting properly once again. Thank you!
