What size number is the sandpaper???
@profleetsolutionstx
@profleetsolutionstx 3 ай бұрын
Highly recommend using an Emery sanding cloth grit 180. If not available, a general purpose Scotch Brite hand pad is fine. The main focus is to remove any debri that will affect the seal installation. Thanks for watching!

Why RTV the knock sensor boots? They don't seal anything. They're more for just keeping dust out.
@profleetsolutionstx
@profleetsolutionstx 8 ай бұрын
It was a recommendation from a GM service bulletin to apply rtv around the knock sensor boots. Mainly to prevent rust, keep water from collecting around the knock sensor valleys.

@@rickyrobbie Yeah it's kinda rare but I've seen rust and bad pitting twice on these engines. I did notice that on both engines the foam that goes under the intake manifold was missing. I'm thinking maybe the owner washed the engine or rain water made it's way through a cracked winshield wiper cowl. Idk man everything is possible I guess lol, Thanks for commenting✌️

If i understand it correctly,you clamp the service brake hose so that air from the handbrake chamber can not leak further in to the service brake chamber ? With clamping you dont hear the leaking sound anymore ? is that correct or ?
@profleetsolutionstx
@profleetsolutionstx 8 ай бұрын
That's correct, you clamp the service hose going to the chamber. Even if you don't have a leaking chamber when you normally supply the air. By having the system supplied with air and depressing the brake and holding, if you have a bad chamber that's when chambers leak also. But for that test you obviously need someone to help you depress the brake while you go around and check which chamber is leaking. Thanks for watching sorry for the late reply✌️
