The ending of the car chase reminded me of assassins 1995 when Stallone’s character steals a yellow taxi in an unnamed city while picking up Antonio banderas’s character and is being chased by the cops and then after Antonio banderas gets out of car while it’s moving, Stallone heads back to the taxi base and leaves it there and makes a quick getaway.

I love this chase. Every time the back barrels of that carb open up I get a tingle and my peen gets hard. My grandparents had a blue '73 LTD like that until 1990. It was just a 351w 2V so it didnt sound like this. They either used a 429 Thunderjet with a Rochester Quadrajet from the early 70s for the sound of the Ford or it was the sound of one of those E68 or E86 Dodges with a Thermoquad. There is nothing like the sound of a wide open spreadbore carb on a strong engine with a quiet exhaust. They dont make car chases like this anymore. I want to put a Qjet on my 6L LS engine just for the sound.

It is hard to believe that this is almost 40 years of age. It is one of my all-time top 3 films. This car chase sequence what stand its own against anything since. No CGI, just pure adrenaline and great driving... Thank you William Friedkin...❤❤❤❤❤💯🇺🇲
