What a time consuming nightmare you've gone through. I didn't realize all the different details involved. I'm sure most don't end up finding out until it happens to them. I'm building a home with my own hands after working construction 40 hours a week. I'm building it debt free which is hard because sometimes I don't have the cash to purchase big items. I have to save up. When I purchased the land, I also got a used travel trailer to live in that I parked on my land to save from paying rent. That saved me a tone of money. Just after I got the place dried in and built a working bathroom, I moved in and sold the trailer. Why I was building the cabinets, I cooked on the BBQ. I never ate out because it cost way to much money to do that. When I'm finished building my home, I'm going to subdivide my lot. I'll end up selling my house and building another one that I will keep on the other half of my land. Then I plan on purchasing an apartment building to fund the the materials that I'll need to build the second home and quit my job. Then I plan on purchasing a nice sailboat so that I can sail around the globe. The other home that I'm going to build will be a small one bed one bath little place just to have a home base and something to come back to whenever I want to. A place to store my things that I don't want to take with me on the boat.

I’m semiretired and we basically live off of my military pension. What I’m trying to say is I don’t make much and we live off of a fixed income while trying to make it work while full time Rv’ing in the future. Classic example of not enough truck in front of the trailer, driving too fast for conditions and probably summer tires.

Highway tires are not made to go in that sticky snow ice mess. Should’ve pulled over and set up camp long ago. I think you had the kid in the back. Thankfully you didn’t do a header into the rig. Power doesn’t matter when you have no grip. I wouldn’t trust those tires in the rain. If they are rated for 90k mileage then they are too hard of a compound. Great for a fedex truck.

Yes I would be reading the fine print as well to be sure the new insurance company are doing the right thing by you. But I'm sure you have that under control. I would be very interested to know approximately how much the truck cost you, considering you got it secondhand. And may I say it looks just like new. You did very well getting it. US$ is fine. I will convert to $AU. It is December 22 now and I will be on the road myself in a year with a 37ft 5th wheeler. It will take that long to get my trailer built. However, my tow rig is old but very sound. But I wondered on the cost of yours. I would have to import one to AU as they don't sell the 450 here to my knowledge. Sometimes the cost is comparable. Lefthand drive does not phase me and is now permitted here for everyday driving. Conversion to righthand drive is price prohibitive, though. Cheers

Instead of laughing this child knew you were in trouble. That shows a lot of insight. I've battled Fleetwood with troubles from the very start. So many. But this is your thread. i felt the thrill of going down Wolf Creek pass once with no brakes and a 20 foot Holiday Rambler. But I hit the run away ramp at the bottom of the hill. I just had a major brake job. It looks like you damaged your slides outs all the way down that side. I can't find a follow up vid on your trailer.
