No CVT in the PHEV. The petrol engine is mostly not connected to the wheels and the electric motors propel the car alone like a Tesla. Above 70kph and under the right conditions the engine can engage 1:1 with the front wheels for increased efficiency at highway speed.

You can get 3,500 towing on the RAV4 Trail, MSRP is $41k. Better fuel economy day to day than the Turbo Mazda and you’re not forced to go to the GT model for $47k to get that towing.

In the US, you don’t have to go to the top line turbo to get the 3500 pound towing as long as it’s any turbo, base turbo on up

Question: Have the local Chevy dealer offering to sell me a truck at cost and offering to show me the invoice. Is this a common sales tactic and is their invoice rel or just something they make up themselves ? The vehicle has been sitting on their lot for 3 months. No price adjustments so far.

onde day when it won't start you will have to tear into the transmission to replace the electric starter/hybrid instead of simply changing an external starter....lol.. made for speed... maintenance and repairs are an afterthought

I doubt most people will be drag racing in these cars. Turbo is nice, with penalty being lower gas mileage, more complexity, pressure / heat, and I assume stress to the CVT. You might be able to get $3k to $4k off the stick in USA right now as the 2025 is out. Some already advertised in the high $39Ks. I live close to sea level, so maybe the base engine is OK?

Not sure why there’s a need to compare. The Envista beats the Trax on everything except on pricing (Trax is cheaper) and cargo space (Trax has more).

Can't compare this to a Hyundai Palisade, that heap of junk will fall apart in less than 5 years. Have you checked out the piss poor engineering (or lack of) on the Palisade? Look under it and discover the next 25 recalls, lol. The Ascent is well put together.

Love my ‘17 Wrangler 3.6V6. It’s easy to maintain and work in by the mechanics, whom I am friends with, after many visits! 😂 #jeeplife😭 Any new engine would be a disaster.

It's NOT a man's vehicle. I have owned 2 Yukon XL Denali trucks and 1 Escalade. Loved all 3 trucks and did ALL the basic maintenance on them myself, that's something that even the majority of men don't do. My Yukons lasted 10 years each. The Escalade turned out to be a lemon so it had to go! I am waiting for the 2025 Denali Ultimate to come out so i can consider getting it, but with the lousy GM quality these days it's a bit of a crap shoot. You should try not to be so sexist and lump ALL women into the same category.

Interesting comment about the rear suspension. Not one I’ve seen expressed anywhere else but useful information to have. The Kona EV is on my short list (certainly the least expensive option on my list and that’s a major factor in my decision) and I’ll certainly try it. However, while range and charge speeds are important, I do have chronic pain issues in my lower back and hip, so seat and ride comfort for medium distances (200-300km at a time) will be crucial. So thanks for the observation about the suspension.

Neither the Trax or Envista have AWD. You’d have to step up to the Trail Blazer or the Encore GX if you want AWD.

While these cars are easy on the eyes, they are sorely lacking in the horsepower department. One of my least favorite Ferrari's to drive. I've always thought that the 246 was a perfect car for a Ferrari owners wife, not too much power and easy to handle...
