I love John Carpenters The Fog, I agree it’s got a unique vibe to it, it’s definitely got that spring break summer feeling to it. It was filmed in San Anselmo CA, bay area, John Carpenter actually lived there for quite some time, and he also gives an Easter egg about it in his film They Live, when the homeless guys talks about how a buddy of his lives in San Anselmo and says “ they got a cult up there, end of the world type of stuff “ lol

@@KatsHorrorCorner I'll look forward to such focus. I'm an 80s Slasher buff, but for some reason, I've noticed 70s Italian Giallo is picking up so much steam with young female intellectual Horror fans, such as yourself. Maybe I'm generalizing?...hate to think so about myself, but I would say I've been attending Giallo school watching a lot of coverage from individuals I never thought I'd be happily learning and receiving such amazing recommendations from. People born long after me schooling me in a genre from before my time! It's strange, but I think it is an underground trend, and I've been loving it! 😊🪓 You ever journey down that Dark Giallo Alley? Perhaps the parrot was to represent a duality to where it should be flying free but humans keep it in a cage for their entertainment and occasional viewing "watching it" in much the same way the humans in this story are kept in the dark forest, often within the "Coop" by the changelings for the same purpose. In the book, the parrot (I think it was called Darwin) is eventually set loose to guide the humans out of the forest/situation and once it does so, it returns to Mina and therefore, back to it's cage and back to the original purpose humans have for it. This symbolism I reckon, is supposed to mirror what Maddy does with Mina at the end of the story (kind of). At least I think that is what A.M. Shine was going for. Anyway, I like and admire what you are doing with this channel and in the way you are doing it; hope it works out for you. Cheers.

I thought it lacked a lot of things. First, the middle part of this movie was very boring. I don't think the plot was well planned out at all. First of all, the professor's office and all his work being available and untouched due to some university deal is absolutely ridiculous and more fantasy than the fairies. That concept was almost like the story was planned out, a plot gap about how his research was investigated in detail was noticed, and somebody went in afterward and thought "oh, wait, through a special deal his office is preserved." Very silly. And, the carpet was turned up an exposed the door to below On accident? Really, nobody would've searched around? Nobody would have checked under the carpets for a way to get out, they had time every day for it. Not very realistic. As an author, one tries to write faction where possible, this movie lacked a lot of "common sense." I think this director needs some lessons on how to build suspense. I thought this was worse than both Imaginary and Night Swim. Boring waste of time for me.

This is my second video of yours I have watched, and I truly enjoy your breakdowns of movies. I no longer can stomach watching horror movies (I know this specific movie is “horror comedy”) but still enjoy the genre for the most part. The way you you give details is straight forward, funny without trying to be, and provides details that other movie commentators either do not know or left out. Little details that are not only appreciated but gives me an inkling of why some choices were made. Like your Strangers Chapter 1 breakdown gave full insight to the trilogy outside of it being a trilogy. Adding in this may be the start of a new studio tactic. Loved that tid bit! I am excited to enjoy other content pieces of yours ☺️ New subscriber!

Great review!!! I just watched In A Violent Nature in the Theater last night, and...well I actually really liked it. It was described as an "Ambient Slasher" by the Director, so I went in not expecting a huge gore fest in every scene. In terms of the ending, I loved the tension and suspense, and the questions it left me with. It's basically kind of a love letter to Friday the 13th. In terms of comedy, I didn't have the same reaction to "That" Kill, but the audience I was with gasped in shock, and about 5 of them left the theater after lol.

I agree, I love this remake , I saw it in 3D at the movie theater opening weekend, ironically I was on a date when I saw this and the only thing interesting that I remember about that date was watching this movie lol I still have the dvd that came with the 3D glasses but their no where near the quality of the 3D from the theater and in my opinion this is the only movie that was not animated that had great 3D effects to it. I also feel that the original is a much more darker affair with a slower burn to it and the remake had a pretty good balance at being dark but fun at the same time.

Great review! I had NO idea this was Radio Silence's take on "Dracula's Daughter" (one of my favorite Universal monster classics and subtextual LGBT classic) until after seeing it and reading up on the production/reading/watching reviews. The actor playing Dracula was the unfortunate husband in a pretty above average LGBT British film "Imagine Me & You". I was puzzled by his big cameo like entrance as the previously mentioned film is the only thing I'd ever seen him in. Afterwards I read he was a vampire in that show "A Discovery of Witches". A show I've been meaning to check out as it's available on Shudder currently. Maybe the Radio Silence guys are a fan of that show. BTW, I'm jealous you got that shirt!

I just barely watched this movie a couple of days ago and I agree that most of this film is filler just so it can lead to the stop motion sequences. I didn’t really see this film as a horror movie, it seemed more like an abstract short film that they tried to turn into a full length film, I do kinda get what it’s trying to say, in a very grim way its a coming of age type tale to which one eventually needs to stop being told what to do and go off and create their own reality but I agree that very little of this is fleshed out properly and it relies too much on the stop motion to get its point across. It’s definitely a weird abstract film with cool technical aspects to it but for me it's one of those films that you watch once and never watch again.
