Her play of the Shiny card at 25:00 is incorrect because it was the card she just gained during token resolution. The only way she could have done this is if she actually had another copy in her hand prior to the start of token resolution. (She would be playing the copy she already had, even if though she physically played the one she just gained. That actually happened a few minutes earlier when you played Mmm Pie and Shiny cards you gained during token resolution, but we can see that you hand copies of those cards prior to token resolution.) Unless players pay careful attention or have a house rule to keep any cards separated that were gained during token resolution until the end of the turn, it's easy for players to play cards they shouldn't either accidently or intentionally.

Thanks for the video. I’m on the fence between the washed and non washed buildings. The washed version seems rather dark and “dirty” on screen. Did you get the same feeling IRL? Do you think it would be relatively easy to just do a simple homemade lighter wash on them?

I think sleeving is a waste of time. Like preserving the condition at the cost of ease of handling and seeing without glare, and spending money on them instead of another game, will preserve the value of their game. It won't make a difference on the value, as these games really don't hold value over decades. Open the game and play it.

I have to sleeve everything. I get really annoyed when a card comes in an odd size that they don't make sleeves for. My go to sleeve is Dragonshield Clear Matte.

There is no separate "retail" edition but rather MG is selling the Kickstarter edition in their store. You just bought the core box pledge without any expansions. Technically the KS exclusives are the replacements of the cardboard cameras with a standee, the acrylic overlays for smoke/gas/fire vs the cardboard version in the prototype and a free alternative Zero operator if you pledged during the KS campaign. I agree though that the core box has plenty. You have 10+ operators for each side, two maps and three types of mission to run which is plenty of combination. I would say though the the map expansions and additional year operators does change the dynamic of the game a bit. For instance, in the core game operators are generally safe from engagements once they are on the upper floor (unless on overwatch) but there are operators on both side in the following expansions that have abilities to target operators on upper floor.

This didn't seem to be a discussion about to sleeve or not to sleeve at all since both people were for sleeving. The biggest and most obvious reason to not sleeve is because the world doesn't need more plastic, I think the second reason might be due to the added expense. Some games have so many cards to sleeve in them that by the time I've bought enough sleeves I could have just got another game. I would have liked to hear more reasons for why not to sleeve to make this a more interesting and genuine discussion rather than listening to two people agree with each other that they both sleeve their games.

I went to a home party this last Friday. At some point we decided to play Katan. The cards were in terrible condition from so many games that were played. I decided to continue sleeving my cards- i did it with TWoW few months ago and continued today with Marvel Zombies. I think it's good to give those cards 1 extra layer of protection.

I wish this didnt get shut down. I really hope they pick the project back up.

Super fun video! You guys had a great game! IMO I definitely would not have burned so much stress in your opening turns. For the very reason you wound up experiencing when you drew that discovery card. I always try to keep two or three stress in reserve. And taking sanity hits early on in the game is a good thing. I always try and get the first couple sanity points as quickly as I can honestly. Getting those upgrades early game makes a big difference. Then I will start burning stress to avoid sanity if things are going too quickly mid to late game.

I feel so stupid because this is my #1 game with nothing getting close and yet I still somehow managed to miss both Kickstarters for it. So now I'm basically just constantly searching for all the content second hand. It's gonna cost me an arm and a leg but I just got the big boy. It's been on my list since I first discovered the game and I'm a huge lovecraft nerd in general so I don't think I'll regret it.

I went for the washed Collector's edition w/wooden token pack.

There is some minor warping on the plastic once they take it out of the molds and by the time it gets to you, but I also find that a small file helps to get rid of the flashing that often causes the gaps.

This game was so good at 4players. our players left thinking about how they can play next time and what they would do differently. The components are also beautiful and gameplay easy to teach. We went from friendly Era 1 to Clint Eastwood Era 2 "GIT OFF MAH LAWN"

Did you check to see if the blimps stack on the score track? I heard they do.

The extra divider is because the event cards are split into two types, one with a question mark and one with a book and you take some of each when setting up the deck to play, so the divider lets you keep both separate.
