Although Iam not a fan of crimp on UHF Coax connectors, this is a great video! As for the excess solder on the center conductor, I usually use an all metal fingernail file, makes quick work of smoothing out the center pin!. Again, great video, thanks for sharing!🇺🇸😏👍

Would be nice if we could get these parts in Europe. Ordering from USA gonna cost me another 50 Dollars on VAT Taxes and handlings cost. I like that there are all through hole parts and db-9. A GPS would be nice to see and a round dc power jack.

Ohhh the NinoTNC do not plug into Pi headers- only USB. Correct? I am ready to move on from my 2 TNC-Pi which are now a source of much frustration.

I think that is a DROKay variable output regulator. its cool feature is it can put out > 5v to the USB connector making it ideal for powering a modern Raspberry PI at 5.2VDC. Here's a search string to find the DROK device DC-DC Buck, DROK Power Supply Module LM2596 DC Buck Converter 5V-36V to 1.25-32V Step Down Voltage Regulator Stabilizer 3A 5A CC Volt " de KA2DEW

Should. I Did not have what it takes to make it work correctly. I gave up and spent $15 to buy another stripper.

Is the crimper and rg8x available on Amazon or where else can I buy them?
@taddinraleigh

I use QSRADIO.com as a supplier Amazon offerings are inconsistent. Some great deals, some ripoffs. Amazon ratings system is confusing because somebody gives a rating for a product which then shows up in somebody else's offering for the product, but the somebody else might be a rip-off artist. The rating may not even be for the same version of the product. I use Amazon quite a bit, but you have to beware and be aggressive with Amazon when they send you trash. QSRADIO has been very responsive, responsible, and fair. That said, QSRADIO does sell some good products which are available cheaper elsewhere. But all of the elsewhere venders (ebay, amazon) are riskier.

@@taddinraleigh I just ordered the crimper and the pl259 connectors from quicksilver. I do have a bunch of solder connectors with adapters but I use a Weller sp120 for soldering the braid and solder station for the center pin. Too much hassle and I'd rather use the crimp connectors. Thanks again!

TK8180K-1 no mods. One issue is that they require a pretty strong signal for 9600 to work well.

we have shipped 210 of the A2 model as of Apr 20. We have 10 PCBs for the A3 on hand and are writing assembly instructions and testing modes and whatnot. Some code work was required between the A2 and A3 and more code work is desired. We'll probably be ordering a for-sale batch of the A3 boards in the next week. Pre-orders are open. Check the web site for new, info, and assembly instructions. tarpn.net/d. also there is a groups.io list for this and our other packet radio projects. All on the info site.

What a beautiful and affectionate cat! Amazing. He looks very much like my deceased baby. I miss him so much. Mine used to wake me up and lullaby me to sleep with purrs and kisses everyday for the past 9.5 years until he died suddenly. Sir, sometimes their heart defects don't show any symptoms until they die suddenly. It would be wise to do an echocardiogram at a veterinary cardiologist to rule out this disgusting disease. I miss my boy terribly and find it difficult to just function since he died a month ago. Enjoy yours every day cause sometimes they "leave" unexpectedly and suddenly.
