Great video, thx so much!! Q: In the original exhaust , does the inner pipe go the full length? Can i keep it that way but shortened (cut the inner to match the outer length)?
@desertmetalfab3170

Yes the inner pipe is the full length, you have to cut the same amount off of the inner pipe that you do in the outer. Check out my part one video, it shows what I pulled out of the exhaust when I cut it apart

I just bought a '60 F100... would love to pick your brain. I live in South St. Jeezy off River Road & Southern Pkwy. The guy I bought it from spray painted the body and I would love to take it down to the Patina but my wife wants me to strip it and have it wrapped. I'm really on the fence about it all. I just need to strip the bed liner from the chrome bumper & bed as it looks tacky. Its got a 292 & 3 on the tree.

I just picked up a Rogue and very well may try to do this. I noticed that the baffle in the center pipe was already cut out in the video, but did you leave it like that? I may leave it in and see how it sounds as I could always drill it out after if felt it is needed.

@@desertmetalfab3170 thanks for the informative video. It helped me out with doing my mufflers this past weekend. I cut the weld, removed the baffles, cut 7" off of the mufflers, cut the baffles in half, and then welded the baffles back in. Vast improvement on looks and a little better sound (deeper but not loud at all). I may drill out the baffle after the bike has some mileage on it.

Did you make the new bed floor what kind of material did you use.
@desertmetalfab3170
@desertmetalfab3170 Жыл бұрын
Yes. Did 100% of the build myself other than the upholstery. Did a bed lift because of the suspension, with ised 1.25 steel square tube and made a platform then I used composite wood decking for the wood. made templates and made the steel straps to go around the border and across the bed to make it look like an old wood barrel.

First off, you did a great job with customizing that stock exhaust. Sounds friggen great. I'm considering doing it myself. But there is an another amazing exhaust solution im considering, the problem is they cost an insane amount. $2k-$3k. Dr. Jekill and Mr. Hyde. You get 3 different exhaust note settings in 1 exhaust and you have an electronic button that hooks up to your handlebar so you can change with a button press. You can quiet mode, balanced mode and full beast mode and I gotta say it's an incredible and very appealing solution. But for the Scout, it's around $2.4k, but you can customize it to your liking. It's one of the best sounding ive heard in balanced and fully unleashed but it's a steep price.
