I see a smorgasbord of fermentable ingredients.....sweet potatoes contain more of the enzymes needed to create our unique elixir. I love this. Ha ha haaaaaaaaaaaa. By the way I agree with you. CHEERS

Hey George I heard on “still it” that you were coming back. Hope so , I love your channel. If you do can you put together a vid on using potato starch rather than potatoes to make vodka. Would it work, would it not work? And why. I’ve watched a lot of your stuff and have learned more from you than the rest. You talk my language and I think I need to get deeper into the game. Come back bud

Tomato wash is just nutriant for the yeast? Or is there more to it?

Sweet potatoes, despite their name, aren't actually potatoes; they are more akin to a root. Therefore, comparing them to regular potatoes is not an "apples-to-apples" comparison.

I tried using inverted sugar used for bee’s. It’s relatively cheap and no cooking needed . And although fermentation has started, it took ages (4 weeks and still going). Is this inverted bee sugar different from what’s used here?

I've returned to this older video with more experience and I tend to agree with George. With the introduction of a PID, I can slowly but surely pull out my heads, hearts and tails with minimal affects on my taste. In other words, why remove more flavor than is necessary.

This is a rather poor and confusing attempt to explain the US domestic power supply system. The original reason for the low voltage was to suit early incandescent light bulbs and this low voltage has survived. One phase of the three phase transmission part of the system is transformed down to 240 volts. This arrives at the final transformer that supplies the end customer at his home. This is a 1:1 transformer whose secondary is centre tapped resulting in a 120-0-120 voltage output. He should have started off with the above information, and then continued with his explanation. Edit to add: this a simplified explanation and is not intended to be a comprehensive tutorial, it is meant to be a constructive criticism of this video.

Awesome video. I watch these all the time and stay very entertained and go back and see things that I missed the first few times. Has anyone ever experienced turbo yeast and yeast nutrient raising the pH significantly? I’ve been setting the pH to about 4.8 so that it lands on approximately 5.2 after turbo yeast, and or yeast nutrient has been added.

Making a simple 5gal sugar wash for very first foray into distilling. Buddy mostly only makes pure sugar wash. He never mentioned yeast nutrient. But you, and everything I've researched said to use it. Which I dont have. Should I add 1 can of tomato paste tomorrow, or is it more of a "just to ensure consistently" kind of thing? Thanks for the help.
