What did you use to screw your DJI OSMO Pocket into the C stand?
@_andy_lou2 күн бұрын
I used a 1/4 to 3/8 inch Metal Male Convertor Threaded Screw Adapter Spigot Stud from Neewer and connected the OP3 on one end and clamped it to the grip head that came with the C stand. I linked it in the description if you want to check it out.

Bto another banging vid, the .LRF files do you delete those files by any chance because not sure why dji creates those lrf files?
@_andy_lou14 күн бұрын
@@asianboss6355 that’s a good question. Earlier on I would delete them but recently started to keep them and just move them to their own separate folder. But I recently found out that they are basically low resolution files or copies of your MP4 files. These are the files you see as playback on the OP3 or the DJI Mimo app. So technically once you move your footage to an SSD or laptop. You no longer need them. Unless you want to use them as proxies for editing. I don’t use them for that so I’ll probably start deleting them again. Thank you for the compliment! 😊

Thanks! You forgot another way - Using the DJI Mimo app over Wi-Fi to get the files into your phone. In my case, I am only shooting a few broll videos, not a lot of vlogging, so I prefer anything that doesn't involve physically removing the micro sd card. So I use either direct USB cable or the MIMO app. Finer point I learned a long time ago with my mirrorless camera. Buy only SD or microSD cards to hold one shooting session (a few hours, a day, etc.). The allure of a big card holding tons of footage from a whole trip or several days of shooting is quickly cursed when, not if, sooner or later, you have a glitch or bad card and lose all that footage all at once. I also have seen software glitches in cameras so conservatively use a "shoot, transfer, reformat" workflow and don't let footage pile up. Bonus tip - always format memory cards in the camera to erase them. Don't use the general format command in your computer. It "should" work, but can introduce strange errors that only show up later at the worse times. Thanks for your videos - really like the shooting examples and visual advice, not just the tech stuff. I'll share one tech thing I am exploring right now - found on that 'express' chinese website tiny charging base for the pocket 3. Like the DJI non-battery handle, but super thin and simply has a 1/4" x 20 tripod/accessory screw hole on the bottom and routes the USB-C port out the side. It sells for only $8. Just ordered a bunch of them. Idea is to use them as "quick release plates" for my Pocket three just like using ARCA Swiss plates for bigger stuff. Stick them on selfie sticks/monopods, table-top mini tripod, etc. and change setups just by using the dual clips on the Osmo and not having to constantly screw-unscrew tripod screws or use those plastic wrap-around collar things. Amazon has them for $22, each if you don't want to wait a few weeks for shipping.
@_andy_lou20 күн бұрын
Thank you for the compliment and the bonus tips 😊. I try to make my videos more visual rather than just reading off tech specs. I find it to be more engaging and fun to make. And my audience seems to enjoy it more. I didn’t forget about the DJI Mimo app. I couldn’t get it to work for me when it came time to moving the files over to my phone. That or I just wasn’t patient enough haha. I found it quicker to use the usb cable. So I stuck with that. I didn’t want to add that in the video if I couldn’t get it to work. I learned to format the cards on camera earlier as well. I’m pretty sure that saved me a lot of grief with my SD cards. And nice find with the charging base! That seems like it would come in handy a lot.

But some of them are Daniel Schiffer, Peter McKinnon, Tyler Stalman, Tom Buck and Ali Abdaal. Ali has a course on skillshare that helped a bit with editing. But mainly I just use the techniques I see other people use on KZfaq until I developed my own style. Hopefully this helps! 😁

Fantastic! Just picked up OM3 for broll and on-location use and this is exactly the kind of usage info that I haven't seen anywhere else. Love the detailed walkthrough on camera angles and shot setup. Would love to see more of this with a focus on product shots to make boring new tech products (visually, not functionally) look interesting. Bonus tip - I went all-in and dumped my Rode Wireless GO II with the full DJI Mic 2 kit. Not for the 32-bit upgrade (but that is nice), but just to keep things simple with one wireless mic system for both the OM3 and my regular Nikon mirrorless. Less confusion and faster setup.
