I read the Invocations earlier this year and loved it as well. The magic and those aspects of the world was so interesting to me. I love the spread you did for it, it definitely fits great!

Just finished Clockwork Prince yesterday, do you think I should read Clockwork Princess right away or it can wait? (it kinda felt like not much happened in the 2nd book but I love the characters, though it really felt like reading the same book twice)

@@ShikiPirs I think you can wait if you want! My favorite part of that series is the characters hands down, not really what happens, although that’s fun too. Although….book 3 is the book that made me cry. 😂

the 4th book in the Mortal Instruments is really the most boring one, I promise, book 5 and book 6 are much better (my personal faves are the 3rd book and the 5th, the 6th books from the series)

I also read Emily Wilde in July! And I agree with you, the first person journal perspective worked when she was just wandering through the woods but the tone shift half way through really through me off. because it was past tense there wasn't any suspense because we knew she was going to survive! it also just felt like I was reading a completely different book but I did still enjoy it! still debating whether I'll read the next one.

Do you have a video showing where your camera and mic is and your set up for filming. I am trying to figure out how to not record my breathing with my phone as my primary filming device because I cannot afford anything else. I do have a lavalier mic. I would love some suggestions.

@@mugglescakesniffer3943 I don’t have a video, but my usb mic is just off to the side when I’m speaking and filming at the same time! I have it plugged into my laptop and record my voice on garageband actually. Then I can put it in my editing program and line it up with my phone audio and mute the phone audio. Then I edit out all the pauses or breaths, etc. I hope that makes sense!

@@TashLife870 it had a few (maybe 3?) that were actually textured and the rest just looked textured, but that was for the “blush” one. The paint-looking ones aren’t actually textured!

I love the whole throne of glass series but it definitely gets better as you go on. Heir of fire onwards is a complete shift. Personally empire of storms is my favourite.

I also read throne of glass. I gave it 3 stars…barely; but I want to push through b/c from what I hear the series gets really good by book three 😂 and I agree the audio is not good. I’m going to read the physical books and hopefully I will connect to the story more.

Started to read the Last Hours series (about the kids of the Infernal Devices' characters), was really disappointed and spoiled everything for the Infernal Devices but here I am finally reading the Infernal Devices (and I understand why everyone loves it, so dynamic! and Jem is my baby, I'm in the middle of the 2nd book now) but I do love the Dark Artificies (the series after the Mortal Instruments, really waiting for the Wicked Powers - the last series in the Shadowhunters' world)

I wish I had even half of the supplies you have, the outcome is so beautiful! Also, I added Parable of the Sower to my TBR (which is 139 books long in Goodreads...), I started focusing back on reading this year, signed up on Goodreads and started journaling about books too, I'll try these kinds of spreads for this months reads!

I’ve been collecting stuff for a few years now, so it takes some time! 😂 Maybe just start with a sticker book so you have a variety, some scrap paper, and some markers. That’s what I started with! Also thrift old books and find some with cool illustrations for cheap decoration.

I think it's an interesting idea to do your reading journal set up at the end of the month- I usually do mine at the beginning of the month so I can fill it in gradually as I go, but it looks so satisfying to see your pages come together all at once! It also seems so smart because you know how many books you read in the month and don't have to try and guess how many you'll read and try to leave enough space for them!

Sorry to hear you didn't vibe with the Poppy War but if you're looking to try more Kuang, then try Babel. It's what she wrote after the Poppy War trilogy and it feels more mature, more grown up fantasy. It's a stand alone and but if you enjoyed the history aspect of the Poppy War then I think you'd like Babel since a lot of it is based on history, racial inequalities, colonization, and how language shapes power. I'm a big Kuang fan and I think it's her best work.

Thank you!! I think so, but I loooove the art they use. And keep in mind you’re supporting independent artists as well with the price. I would look through their past packs and their single sheets on their website and see if you like them enough. You can always just buy a single past pack from them too!

Love your videos! I would love to know the genre of the books. I really liked the overview you gave for Half a Soul, and the disclaimer on the cannibal society. This will help me add books to my TBR list as I am finally getting back to reading more.
